(BABY POV)

I watched a few more children run into the room, counting them silently to myself. It was a quieter day today, only a few families showed up. 3, 2, 4, 2... I was preparing for my next song, but I knew that only one child in the room meant one thing. More death, more sorrow. That was what our programming called for and Ballora was very strict about following it. Thankfully, a large group of kids walked in, calming my worries. About 14 kids were now in the room. They were followed by an adult that looked rather mean. I had seen a few of the kids before, and one of them caught my eye. Y/N. I wasn't supposed to remember kids names due to my programming, but there was something about (Y/N) that was special. Something that seemed to break past the programming and get through to Foxy, Freddy and I. Hopefully it would get through to Ballora one day too. They came to the restaurant every week with who I only assumed to be the rest of the kids in their orphanage, which they had told Foxy about before.

"Hey kids! The next song is starting in two minutes! Take your seats and enjoy the show!" I said, my voice echoing through the large room. (Y/N)'s eyes sparkled and they stepped closer to the stage. I wasn't programmed to say anything friendly really, only sing songs. The friendly, interactive programming was unfortunately given to Foxy. I had to stick to it on stage or Ballora would have my head along with me probably being recalled. So I just turned and waved at the child, making it out like it was just a coincidence. They waved back, a small smile on their face before the adult that had walked in with their group came up behind them. The adult, Miss Delle (something I had gathered quickly from the children yelling it to grab her attention), grabbed Y/N's shoulder roughly before pulling them away from the stage. Rage burned in the pit of my non-existent gut, but I ignored it. I didn't know how humans dealt with their kids so I assumed it was normal. Throughout the day, Y/N and two other kids talked softly to each other. Y/N kept trying to come see Ballora and I, to the dismay of their friends. They were always caught by Miss Delle and scolded. It kept getting harsher and harsher until one time, they were slapped. It happened so fast that I barely even processed that it happened at first, and it seemed like that was the case for Y/N as well. But soon enough tears welled up in their eyes and they nodded. I nearly stopped in the middle of my song, feeling fear and rage start to eat at me once again.

Does this happen to them all the time? Are they okay?

The end of the day came quickly and they had to leave, calling out a quick, "I'll come back soon!" before being pulled out of the restaurant. Zero, I was glad that no one would die today. But I also still felt the rage from earlier. The motherly and protective feeling I had for Y/N was something I had never felt before, but I wasn't going to push this down. I wanted to protect her. But she and the rest of her group didn't come back for a long time. Two years passed. I never forgot about her, even if Foxy and Freddy did. I had given up hope that she would come back when a familiar face walked through the doors mid-intermission with Miss Delle and one of her friends that I had remembered seeing trailing behind. Y/N?
