Magic is not a 'unique' or 'new' thing anymore. The government officials all have powers, so do the most successful doctors, scientists and the policemen.
However, not everyone has these special talents. Some resort to drastic measures while others just accept but secretly lament by themselves.
These powers have even driven people to insanity, suicide and extreme envy.
Estoria is a magical city, where it hosts the most highly rated academy and profitable jobs with giant, prominent businesses. Skyscrapers touch the clouds, literally, and the city is never without its fair share of the buzzing of hoverboards and excited chatter about the latest anti-aging injections and 'Annie'.
Estoria is the centre of it all. Paths that weave underground and below the ocean lead to the other five major cities.
Orstilia is a planet that has a size similar to the now-extinct Earth. In fact, it's almost an exact replica with the identically shaped continents. Now, the government has long since 'renovated' the planet: destroyed the edges of each of the seven continents into jagged circles. Not many have survived to see the great change centuries ago.
Every year, Orstilia celebrates the loss of the seventh continent with a ceremonial service: a tournament, the last step to fame.
That tournament is what many have worked endlessly for their whole lives.
