❝i'm no good for you! what don't you understand about that? why can't you just let it go? let me go!❞ she says, trying to release herself from his grasp.
❝i can't! i keep trying, but i can't.❞ he said lowly. letting her go. he expected for her to run away. but she didn't.
❝why? please, tell me. tell me why it's so hard for you to understand what's supposed to happen. why it's so hard for you to know that we aren't meant for each other, and that we'll never be.❞ she folds her arms over her chest whilst shifting her weight off to one hip. he loved when she did that, just it felt different to him that time.
he paused, thinking of the right words to say. but when he found them, they poured out of him.
❝because no matter how much i'd try to not think about you, not remember your smile or even try not to come back, i always do. i always end up coming back. you're like a drug. a cigarette. you're bad for me, but i keep coming back.❞
just then, all the emotions that he'd been holding back were visible to him. the demons.
she store at him blankly, not being able to process any words. not after what he said.
he was intoxicated by her beauty. a beauty that no other girl ever had.
