Hey, guys! It's me. Luckily I'm in a lot better mood than I was in my last author's note, minus the fact that i crushed my phone in a movie theater seat when watching Doctor Strange lol. There's a few people I know who deserve a little more recognition for their writing, especially a certain person I'll be mentioning at the end, due to the fact that there's a long ass story as to why I'm giving her a shoutout.
AutumnThePositive Here she is. The girl I mention in literally every book I write. My favorite person, and meh best friend. She also writes good shit.
Malycia12 I guess I'll give her a shoutout. She writes weird depressing Twilight shit, if that's your thing. Personally, I've only read a few lines of the stuff she writes, due to the fact I'm not a fan of sparkly vampires. I'm more of a superheroes in tights and aliens traveling in a time machine that's bigger on the inside, as well as all of Rick Riordan's books. Personally, I'm mad at Malycia at the moment, since she doesn't talk to me at all, but I'll give her a shoutout anyway.
blueberru24 She's a human.
kklaroo This is the one I wanted to mention last, due to the long ass story.
It all started when I read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and the few Heroes of Olympus books that had been out at the time.
This was probably 2012-2014. Probably 2013. I have the memory of a goldfish.
At the time, I had been obsessed with Nico di Angelo (the best character in the series. He especially has the best character development.) and the idea of "What if the virgin goddess of the moon, wasn't as much of a virgin as we thought?" This is when I discovered fanfictions, mainly Nico di Angelo X Readers (even tho I'm lesbian AF) and Daughter of Artemis fanfics.
That's when something clicked.
"What if there are Nico di Angelo X Daughter of Artemis Reader fanfics?"
After some searches, and some pretty crappy fanfictions, I stumbled upon two things.
WattPad in general
and "The Wolf Child and the Ghost King," by kklaroo.
I absolutely LOVED Kara's book. I remember stealing my mom's computer after school and reading it, and checking for updates once I had caught up. And i remember when the updates stopped, and how I checked daily. And how there were none.
Weekly, and there were none.
2 months later, there were none.
That's when an idea struck me.
"What if I write my own?"
That's when I began writing my first ever fanfiction, that I wrote long before I considered posting stories online. I called it, "The Moon Twins" series. It was originally supposed to be a trilogy about twin children of Artemis, a girl and a boy, who were born millennia ago, and stayed with the Lotus Eaters until around 14 years ago. It was originally supposed to occur a bit after the Percy Jackson series. It was also from the point of view of Ariah, occasionally switching to Aris's POV, kinda like how it switches between Carter and Sadie in the Kane Chronicles. I lost inspiration about a third of the way into the first book.
Long after deleting the book, I checked on "The Wolf Child and the Ghost King."
Still nothing.
In the end of 2015, I created a WattPad account. My first book was the original version of "Story of our Lives," which is based upon how i saw my friends and I in the future. I also started my Zane X Reader.
I stopped getting on WattPad for 3 months right when another chapter was added to that book.
Between then and a few days ago, I had checked a few times to see if there had been updates.
Nothing.
A few days ago, I checked once more. The realization hit me that Kara had not been on WattPad for basically a year, and that broke my heart.
That's when I sent her a private message, telling her my story. Telling her about how, although I knew that she probably would never read my message, I wanted her to know that she had been the original inspiration for everything I've done here on WattPad, and in writing in general. About how I now have over 600 people who enjoy my writing.
I had honestly expected her to never even notice she had been messaged on a site she hadn't used in a year.
However, what happened shocked me and still amazes me now.
After going through her email, kklaroo noticed my message, and not only did it make her happy, it even caused her to start writing again. I could not be happier right now.
You guys, please feel free to go check out some of her books. She's truly an amazing author. I'm sure you can probably find a book that peeks your interest.
