Torrie's POV
Tonight was the night I would finally give Jackie a reason to love life, I know she hates dresses and all ,but she's a sophmore and I'm a senior, all I wanted to do in those young years was help Jackie while her younger brother got all the attention. I also wanted her to go too at least one dance while she was in highschool.
I had gotten into my old 96 green explorer, it started up with roar and a chicka chicka sound, witch probably doesn't mean anything good, I'm one of the few men on earth that probably has no clue on how to fix an old truck, my family always called him the green hoopty it was the truck that I always dreamed of driving so when my 16nth birthday came by I asked only for the 96. I got it. I turned the radio on to 95.9 because Jackie is in love with the moderen pop music ,while I like beatles and beach boys. The drive was only a minute drive but when you an hour from school you have to leave super early.
The front of Jackie's house was half hidden from trees since her house is in the middle of a forest, I'v known her since she moved here, wicth was ten years ago I still remeber walking through the house or more so the mansion when I was younger Jackie, Paige,Darry and me we would all play together, Darry is my younger brother and he fell in love with Paige he was dating her when the accident happened, in fact he was going to propose to her on her birthday in the summer, saddly Darry went to war right after the accident we never saw him again.
Anyway I got out of the car and walked up to the front door, I truelly hated using the doorbell but no one would be able to hear me if I didn't. I pressed the button. My phone went off at that moment.
''Hello?'' I asked
''Would you quite ringing that doorbell, just call Jackie'' She hung up. So what if you could hear the doorbell a quater mile away, the whole woods was owned by the Corbens that's how they used to find all of us during daytime.
I heard some yelling then Jackie opened up the door.
'' Sorry I had to put on my sneakers.'' She said, I could see that she was carrying a backpack, Ichuckled at that.
'' What's so funny,'' she said with a huff.
'' Nothing com'n lets get in the green hoopty.'' She was a little ticked already but I knew she would like to go to the dance. When we had both gotten into the truck and I was half way to the school.
'' Wait, I'm having second thoughts, please Torrie if you have any decency left turn around.'' She said.
All I did was turn the radio and the most annoying song came on, Call Me Maybe, I cringed at the stupid song, then I herd no other than Jackie joining with the song,
'' HI MY NAME'S ROLANDA, YOUR SUCH A HOTTIE, CAN I KISS YOU, I WANT YOUR BODY!'' she screamed at the top of her lungs.
'' JACKIE, KNOCK IT OFF, IF YOUR GONNA SING SING THE RIGHT LYRICS!'' I was trying to shout over her and the song, I was losing the fight. When a break came into the song I knew what I had to do to if I was going to persuade her to go to the dance,
'' EW YOUR SO UGLY, GROSS AND SMELLY!'' I started shouting and singing at the same time with Jackie laughing the whole time, I sang both the boy and girl parts. Then it finally ended.
''Alright now that I made a fool out of myself you owe me one.'' I said with a smile.
'' Fine don't turn around.'' She said, with a huff she started reaching down and undid her sneakers and put on a light coral pink flats.'' Me wearing this pink is your fualt, the only good thing about this is you buying me dinner.'' she kept ranting on while I just tunned her out.
