All we could do is run. We couldnt talk. Just run. That's all we focused on. Run. Run.

Run.

We stopped after a while because we both starting aching and we finally let loose and started crying.
"The other agents are probably already notified! They're searching for us. AND WHAT EVEN HAPPENED TO THE KIDS THAT WERE LEFT IN THE SCHOOL?? THE TEACHERS? ARE THEY GONE?" I yelled. "Hey, hey. Chill. Everyone within a mile could hear your screaming." Why was Jessica so calm about this? "What's gonna happen?" I ask, just to see her reaction.

"I don't know everything, but the only thing I do know is that we're staying together."
I was so relieved to hear her say that. If I were on my own I'd already be dead. Jessica always supported me, she was certain about everything she said, she was caring and she was bold.
"Your eyes are beautiful when you cry," Jessica says laughing. "But they're so plain!" I exclaim back. "They're so deep. They tell a story. They're silver and blue and green. And beautiful."
"I forgot you had such a trait for cheering someone up!" I laugh.
"Yeah.." Jessica trails and picks up her phone. "We need to find somewhere to sleep. And food."
"Ok. Let's make a plan. We both need to find huge bags and fill them with a bunch of food and water, a blanket each, pads, tampons too, and underwear." I said. You gotta be prepared for your monthly.
We decide to have one bag full of nothing but food and water and one with everything else and food in the extra room. We both get all the money we have, makeup of different shades, and shampoos.
We don't have that much time, we know they're looking for us, so we have to be sneaky and keep moving.
We only go to my house. We raid everything. I get my warmest blanket and enough pairs of underwear and socks to last me at least two weeks. I get travel size shampoos and one bottle of conditioner. I hide every bit of money I have and some of my moms in a small waterproof pocket. Then we leave.
We don't know the best place to go, so we just pick this old motel since it's cheap. Seniors at our school always stay there. When we walk in, it actually doesn't seem like that awful motel in movies that smells like cigars and has roaches crawling everywhere. There was no wifi, so they apparently hadn't seen us on the news, which is good. We get our room, which is soooo cheap, and the first thing I do is lay down. We both get our own bed. It's only 7 pm, but I'm asleep in minutes.

The next morning I go down with Jessica to the motel breakfast bar and get as full as possible. I excuse myself to go to the bathroom and as I'm walking down the hall someone grabs my arm and pulls me into a closet.
He turns on the light, and I see him. Jonah Redmon. A junior at our school. I've never actually had a conversation with him but he's known to be quite a man-slut...
"What are you doing?" I jerk my hand away and try to look tough. As much as I can, I guess.
"You do know that everyone is looking for you trying to kill you right?" His voice is so... attractive.
"I'm aware. Wait. Is the school in on this too?! What happened after they took all of us in the office?!"
"I'll tell you what happened if you tell me."
I agreed and sat down. So I told him everything. And then he started.
"We ALL heard the gunshots. And a lot of screaming. People started freaking out and they told us about a bomb and how all of you knew bad things... after a while the men started looking confused and then told us that you and this Jessica chick had killed the main business operator. And I'm like "DANG THESE GIRLS FIRE AS F"-
"Can you not" I say flatly.
"Anyway, they told us all that we needed to help find you guys before you do something."
"So you're gonna turn us in." I'm really not amused in this conversation.
"Nah, I'm actually gonna keep you guys safe. You think people don't trust me? They do what I say. And I don't think killing people is right. And Jessica just lost her boyfriend so I'm not tryna kill her."
"You're just so thoughtful." I muttered. This guy really seems full of himself. Confident? Overly-confident? Is that a good thing? I wouldn't know. I don't need to know.
"I have an empty house. I live alone but it's a 4 bedroom house with 2 master bedrooms. Interested?"
A bath sounded so good right now, and I wanted my own bedroom.

"Jessica, we got a house."
"Wait what?" Jessica was so confused. I explained everything. So we checked out of the motel, got our stuff, covered our faces, and went to kylers house.
