summer's chapter
chapter six
I started to make Liam my first target because one) he challenged me, two) he might be the hardest to break, and three) if the head fell, they all would too. At least that was the plan.
I immediately saw Liam as the glue. He was mature beyond his age (not that there was anything wring with that). He just needed to learn when to loosen up.
"So, who are you going to break first?" Josh said, bursting into my little thought bubble. We were currently driving to the boys' hotel. It was pretty early in the morning so I expected a hissy fit from each of the boys.
"I think Liam." I said, as Kaylee slept in the back.
"Don't you think he'll be the hardest?"
"No."
"Really?" Josh laughed, clearly amused by my snappy answer.
"If anything the hardest might be Harry. I'd have to crush his huge ego."
"They all have huge egos."
"His is just a tad bit larger than the others." I used my fingers for emphasis. "Just a little bit."
"And you think you can break Liam by fishing?" Josh raised his eyebrows.
"Gee whiz, I can't take them sky diving and expect them all to break free as they fall from thousands of feet up!"
"Sky diving would be perfect for them!"
I rolled my eyes. "They'd be traumatized."
"But-"
"TRAUMATIZED." I yelled over him as we burst into laughter. "I have to be smart about this. Take it slow."
"You've got a lot more patience then I do." Josh glanced over at me as we pulled into the hotel the boys were staying at.
"That's a good one," I smirked as I twisted my body around to see my best friend sound asleep. She looked so peaceful. What a shame.
"KAYLEE, COME ON WE GOT TO GO. GET UP GET UP GET - "
"I'M UP. STOP. PLEASE." She screamed, jerking her head up and immediately glaring at me. "Gosh."
"I'm going to go run up and get the boys. Stay here." I smiled sweetly, grabbing the room key Niall had given me and rushing out of the car to get the lobby. I jogged inside before slowing down and stepping through the door that the doorman held open for me. He nodded curtly as I gave him a little smile. I then rushed to the elevators to greet the boys.
I started to knock on the door but I remembered I had the room key so I burst open instead.
The hotel room was quiet and everything appeared to be in place. I shut the door quietly behind me and tiptoed to find out where the boys were. Hopefully they wouldn't be too upset, or naked when I found them. Not that I wouldn't mind. I just -
I froze when Zayn staggered out of his room and completely walked right past me. He headed toward the kitchen as my eyes followed him across the room.
"Zayn?" I whispered, grabbing his attention.
"You're back?" He raised his eyebrows. I couldn't tell if he was annoyed with me or not. It didn't matter to me. If I was in his position, I'd be annoyed with me too. I wasn't here to please anyone though. I was here to find out where the young One Direction boys were. The happy ones. The ones living their dream.
"Yeah. I plan to take you all out again."
"Please, not swimming, you - "
"Did wonderful yesterday." I smiled, remembering his little adventure in the water. "But, we'll be staying on land today. Can you help me wake up the boys?"
