I take my shirt that Dylan drenched in sweat off. Which left me in my black bra. I go to the closet and chose another shirt.

"You should really lock the door." Dylan says.

"Dylan. What the hell!"I cover my chest area with my arms.

"You really have to cover up? He says not leaving not moving away.

"Well you are a boy and I'm a girl, who is half naked and you're watching, of course i'd cover myself." I turn my back towards him. I pick a black tee and put that on.

"Hmm, alright. So are you opening the letter?" He asks.

"I don't know, probably not now. I'm trying to move on and I'll later look into the letter." I go outside of my room, pushing Dylan on the way out.

"How about I read it out loud to you?" He suggests.
"I think that's a good idea." I shrug and make our way back down the stairs.

I grab the envelop and rip it open, I handed it to Dylan.

"Hey don't let this get to you Maddie." He says and takes out the letter.

He quickly reads it first then looks up at me.

"What does it say?" I quickly ask.

"Uh. It says..." He hesitates.

"Maddie, I'm sorry I couldn't be the ideal mother you've wished for. I was troubled and you always were there remained positive. You took care of me when I was supposed to be taking care of you. Don't cry over me, because I don't deserve you." He reads it.

I cross my hands and look down. He continues to read.

"I know that I have hurt you. I hope you can understand when you're older. I will miss your graduation and your wedding,Or I'll never see my grandchildren. But I want you to know that I am so proud of you my darling. I love you." He finishes the letter.

"Oh my god." I cover my mouth.

I didn't know how to react...
Dylan answered for me.
He ditches the letter and comes and hugs me. (picture above)

I cry into his chest, hugging him back.

"See, she loved you. It wasn't your fault she died. It wasn't anybody's.Shes proud of you. And I bet she's looking down smiling."He lightens the situation.

"You think so?" I look up at him.

"Yes, because you are her daughter. Now I have a surprise for you." He says.

"What is it?" I curiously ask.

"It wouldn't be much of a surpise if I told you know would it? Close your eyes." He says.

I cover my eyes with my hand.

"Extend you hand." He says.

I listen to him and do what he asks.

A small rectangle shaped box is placed on my hands. I uncover my eyes and see the white box with a bitten apple logo placed on top.

"What is it?" I furrow my eyebrows and play with the box.

"It's an iPhone." He says shocked at how I didn't know from the logo.
