A soft breeze rippled down the hollow. Casting Seedpaw's fur upwards as the chilly Leaf-bare breeze shook her paws. The Gathering was taking place in a few moments, as this would be her second gathering. Lightly walking on her paws, she pounced on the crippled log that lay at the entrance of the gathering place. Tail streaming behind her, she slivered up the log, casting devious glances below her as the waves were slowly licking hungrily at the surface below her.
"Hey, Seedy! Wait up!"
Instantly, she recognized the cat, being Sagepaw. She was a few moons older then Seedpaw, and called her ridiculous names to humiliate her. Beginning to speed up the branch, she dove through the bracken on the other side. Sagepaw's calls faded away as the unfamiliar voices of the other Clan cats echoed around the clearing. Tasting the air, she recognized the foul stench of fish.
RiverClan.
Flicking her tail, she recognized the unfamiliar smell of pine. That must be ShadowClan.
"Seedpaw! Seedpaw? Seedpaw, right?" A voice brought her out of her thoughts. "Huh? Yeah, thats me." She huffed. Spinning around, she saw Wavepaw. She made friends with him last gathering. "What's under your fur?" He joked. "Anyways, WindClan's late. Again." He snorted, gazing at her with a huff. "Of course their late. Flowerstar probably lead them in a patch of thistle. She's got bee's in her brain."
Wavepaw let out a snort of amusement. "Still mad that she accused you ThunderClan squirrel eaters of stealing prey?" Instantly, Seedpaw tripped him with a swipe of her forepaw, and toppled him with a grin. "And! You! Smelly fish eaters!" Am I getting to close with him? She thought suspiciously.
"Get off of me you oaf." He laughed, pushing her off. She rolled away from him, launching to her paws. "C'mon, I smell WindClan."
Seedpaw tasted the air. He was right. "Lets go find the other apprentices." She suggested. The black tom nodded in agreement. "Ill show you the way." He slid into a gap in the bracken. Slipping between obstacles, he found an old rabbit hole that had cobwebs pecking around the edges. "Their in here." He gestured to the rabbit hole with a paw.
"What?" She glanced at the hole. "You expect me to go through there?" She shuddered at the thought. "Besides, we wouldn't be able to hear the leaders."
"Everyone's down there," Wavepaw rolled his eyes. "Suit yourself." He added, slivering down the hole. "Hey-! Im coming too!" She stammered.
Hesitating, she closed her eyes and pushed herself down the rabbit hole. Instantly, she began picking up speed, as the rabbit hole swept downwards. Curtly, it changed direction, sending her slamming against a wall. "Wait for me!" She called. Fear caught her breath as she crawled blindly through the dark. "I knew you'd come," Wavepaw chuckled. He seemed like he was right in front of her. As he was a pitch black tom, she couldn't see him, but she felt his breath along her ear tufts.
"Bite my tail, i'll lead you the way." She felt his tail swipe by her nose. She gently grabbed it between her teeth, and Wavepaw began walking along the tunnels. "Watch out, theirs a root here, crawl down below." He ordered.
Flicking her tail, she instinctively followed his orders, crawling along the tunnel's ground. "You can stop crawling now," He tugged his tail out of her jaws. "I think you gave yourself a hairball with the amount of fur you took off,"
Blinking, a light suddenly became clear at the end of the tunnel. Realizing that the tunnel ended there, Wavepaw crawled out. Following, Seedpaw saw a few other apprentices socializing at the end. a few vines and ivy stems poked from the walls of the tunnel, making Seedpaw's paws feel uncomfortable.
