Avalon said, "Who? I don't know what you're talking about..." "I remember you from when I was really little. You and Mom left me!!"

"I don't know what you are talking about, young one! Now, you're getting off topic! I thought you wanted me to teach you!" Avalon shot back. "I do, but-" I started to say. "Then shut up and let me teach you!" "Yes sir..."

Avalon started again. "Good. Now, please sit down." I did so, and he ran me through some exercises. I tried, but try as I might, I couldn't even figure out what the hell he was trying to teach me. I kept messing up the exercises. Finally Avalon lost it. "Dammit, boy, what the hell did your parents teach you, nothing?!" That's when I got ticked off. "For your information, Avalon, my parents left me when I was two! Then I was stuck in the orphanage until I finally ran away a couple days ago!" Kelleena finally stepped in front of me and put her hand on my chest. That soothed me immediately. She told me calmly, "Jacob, please calm down. Don't you see that he's only testing your self-control? He's purposely doing this to see how much you can take." "That's right, Jacob," Avalon retorted, "listen to your little b-!" This time, I had to hold Kelleena back, even though I wanted to beat the living tar out of him. "Kelleena, stop. As you said, he's only trying to see how much we can take. Please, calm down." Suddenly, a green pulsing force billowed out from my hands and went into Kelleena. We both looked at each other in shock, neither of us able to comprehend what just happened. Then Avalon had me do the exercises again, and I went through them effortlessly.

"Good job, young one, but still not good enough. Again." He had me go through the exercises again, but this time he decided to hurl insults at me while I was doing them. Even that wasn't good enough for him. "Again," he announced. This time, Kelleena disappeared into thin air, and I started to panic. Then Avalon gave me a new instruction, "Focus through your panic." How the hell was I supposed to do that?! I was saved, in a way, by the sound of a creaking tree. I looked behind me, and I saw a tree falling down towards me. I just barely managed to roll out of the way. Avalon called to me, "Focus, young one! Foc-! UGGHH!!" I yelled for Avalon, but I didn't hear him. Just then, Kelleena popped into my mind. I called out to her in my mind, but I only heard a muffled response. One word, HELP! I focus on what she told me, and I focused on the postition of the monster. I locked on just as a heavy, dense fog settled on the area. I locked on and shot electricity, but it went haywire. Then, out of nowhere, a pillar of fire shot from behind me and blasted the monster to smitherines. The fog lifted, and there stood Avalon, doubled over and breathing heavily, but seemingly alright. "Avalon, where's Kelleena?" I asked, fearing the answer. Three awful words tumbled out of his mouth.

"I don't know..."
