Jamie POV
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our decent into Los Angeles and should be on the ground in 15 minutes. Please note your baggage will be available on carousel 2."
I am so happy to be arriving in LA, to start shooting a new movie, and to leave behind the baggage that has been dragging me down for a while now.
I'm happy to be staying in Dakota's home while I'm here, but I will miss her even more seeing her things around me. She's in Italy filming, and I hope to see her soon. I know she is working hard, and having to take on the demands of a dancer, but I know my girl can do it.
As the plane touches down, I check my texts from her. She left her car for me and told me where to find it and that the keys would be on top of the right rear wheel. I really must talk to her about security.
I put on my ball cap and duck my head and make it through without being spotted. It's a good night! I get my bags and find her car exactly where she said, and lo and behold, the keys are still there. I load up, plug her address in to my GPS and I'm off. I don't think I've been this happy in months. What does that say?
I pull into her drive, and am surprised to find the outside light on. I use the code she gave me to access the front door and find a note from her on the counter.
"Hi Baby! Welcome Home! I asked the housekeeper to tidy up and change the sheets, and I left you something in the fridge. Let me know when you are safe, please. Love you!"
I can't help but grin like an idiot. Lord, I love this woman. I open the fridge and find a six pack of Guinness. YES!
I pull out my phone and note that it's 4 a.m. in Italy, but I text her, thinking she'll have her phone off or on mute while she's sleeping. She can find my text when she wakes.
I take a selfie of me and a bottle of Guinness and send it with a note "Here and happy – just wish you were with me!"
To my shock, she face times me within a minute. I pick up immediately, "Hi Baby, I hope I didn't wake you."
"No, I was just dozing. I was waiting to hear that you were safe. I'm so glad you're there and I'm so happy to see you face."
"Me too, babe. God, I've missed you. Even sleep tousled you look amazing. Wish you were here."
"Me too. Strange but true, it makes me feel better to know you are in my house. Makes me feel connected somehow."
"So, I just put my bags in your room and I saw a pillow wearing my t-shirt. What is that about?"
She ducks her head and giggles, "I sleep with it. It smells like you."
God, I love this woman. "I'm not sure if that makes you sweet or a stalker."
"Not your choice. Leave my pillow alone."
"Gotta say, I'm kind of pissed that you had the housekeeper change the sheets. I wanted to be able to smell you."
"And you call ME a stalker. I may have left a nightie on the rack in the bathroom if she didn't put it in my laundry. Otherwise, you are free to roam my drawers to find something that smells like me. But please don't try on my panties – you'll stretch them out!"
"Well, we can't have that. I like your panties just as they are. Although, I like them most when they are wet."
She throws her head back and laughs, "Well, you'd love the ones I have on right now."
I smile hugely at her, "Really? You got a wet spot for me? Show me!"
She blushes and says, "No, I'm not gonna show you, but yes, I'm wet. When I hear your voice and see your face, that is all it takes to get my water works going."
