Before the clock strikes 0 (Original [Not really] Story)

Author notes: I hope you enjoy this story, I love this type of story and decided to make one with my own Original Characters who in no way relate to me. The main characters aren't based on anyone I know (except for the fact that somehow one of them has started to basically become me... oops), I literally got them from random name generators so enjoy. The video is just there for the sound effect if you want it. The numbers on the video are completely irrelevant.

This was it, the moment Ben had been waiting for ever since he got his chip installed when he was 5. 9 years of waiting. He just hoped he wouldn't be disappointed. He wondered what kind of girl he would see. Brown hair, blonde hair, red hair. In Ben's mind it didn't matter who he was paired with, as long as he knew that they were soulmates. Ben was very average. He liked to watch TV and play games and was in a lot of fandoms on Tumblr. He had medium length black hair and pale skin with a skinny build. He wasn't very popular, but he had friends, and they were all very faithful to him. To celebrate his 24 hours until meeting his soulmate, he had a sleepover with a friend of his, Naomi. Her timer used to be black, as she thought she was asexual and didn't feel attraction to people. However, she had later found out that she may be demisexual, as one day her timer suddenly turned green, her favourite colour, and just started ticking down with 329 days 21 hours 32 minutes. At the moment her timer had just less than 5 months left and we all congratulated her.

"So..." She asked awkwardly, "How are you feeling about all this?"
"My mind is a wreck, I keep contemplating how this could be possible, the time's passed so quickly" I reply with a whisper.
"So it should be," she returned, "You're going to meet the girl you'll be spending your whole life with in 24 hours."
It was currently 15:00 and Ben knew he had a long day ahead of him...

The pair spent most of the day playing Mario Kart 8, Ben playing as an overpowered Mii character he made, with the highest top speed of any character but low acceleration, high weight and low handling, which didn't really bother him, and Naomi played as Wendy, her main character and one of our favourite Koopalings. He beat her on Tick Tock Clock but she got revenge on Grumble Volcano. And after a terrible race that neither of them would like to remember, they were tied and had one course left, rainbow road from Mario Kart 64.

They took their places at the starting line, Ben in the 8th position and Naomi in the 6th. Ben just managed to perfectly pull off the starting boost and gained an early lead over Naomi and the rest of the competition. With his fast speed he was quickly gaining on the others. He passed the first item box and grabbed a red shell, throwing it to hit Baby Peach and throwing her off course. He then paraglided into the air and through the hoops. But Naomi was catching up, and soon they were neck on neck. What's more, a blue shell was headed Ben's way. By the second lap, Ben was already in 5th from being repeatedly assaulted by shells and bananas. Luckily he had a plan, all he had to do was gain top speed and soon he'd be unstoppable. He pushed his way through the rankings, flattening players with stars and using all the skills he learned to catch up to Naomi. This was his chance. Once he had made it round the course twice, he put his plan into action, using the super horn he had to stop her in her tracks and get back into first. It wasn't long until the race was over and Ben won while Naomi placed 3rd.

"Woohoo!" He yelled, "in your face!"
"No fair, you keep using that overpowered character mynaneben (This is literally just an inside joke between me and some friends, none of which are on Wattpad, I don't expect anyone to understand why the character is named that)," she sulked, "where did you even get that character?"
"I made it when I got bored and it turned out to be really fast," he simply replied.

The two spent the rest of the day gaming and before they even knew it, it was already 23:00. They decided to go to sleep as they needed the rest if they were going to meet Ben's soulmate in peak condition.

Author notes: Hope you enjoyed, and trust me, this story may get a little more interesting in the next few chapters, there will be tears (possibly), bloodshed (okay, maybe not that one) and lots of angsty teen feels.
