The Beginning

Emily and Alison had a peaceful two years, thankfully. After moving out of Rosewood once and for all, everything just fell into place. Ali and Em saved up an impressive amount of money and settled in a nice apartment in New York City. Where they were safe, and could actually call it a home. Spencer and Aria gave the couple space, so they could get settled in, and every once in awhile they'd call to check up on them. Then there's Hanna, space just doesn't exist to her. One time Emily had come home from the grocery store to find Hanna sitting on the bathroom sink while Ali was in the shower, they were just having a normal conversation about what plans they had the upcoming week. But despite Hanna's inability to give them space they still loved her. As for Ali and Em... well their relationship has been on the rocks lately. Emily's been sleeping on the couch for a good week now, waiting until Ali allowed her back in the bedroom. Everyone has a rough patch, and they would certainly move on from it. Although they don't really even speak that much anymore, they're both busy with their jobs. Neither of them could even remember the last time they had gone on a date. Emily missed being close to her, she missed having her fall asleep in her arms, and her sleepy smile when she woke up.

I sat up on the couch, glad morning finally had come. Peeking over the cold leather couch I saw Ali humming peacefully while slicing a banana. I stood up rubbing the sleep from my eyes and stretching my cramped limbs.

"Morning Ali." I said quietly

"Good morning Em..." She said quietly keeping her eyes focused on the knife.

I kept quiet for a few minutes, getting my mind together for the day.

"What's wrong now?" I asked her, noticing that she was acting differently.

"Are you serious?" She shot back at me.

"Do you not remember?" She asked, an annoyed laugh slipping from her lips. I shook my head, even though she wasn't looking at me.

"You stormed off last night, like usual..." She said sighing

Then I remembered everything that had happened.

"You were ditching me for that doctor again." I said raising my voice slightly

"We haven't been on a date in months and the one time we both don't have anything going on you ditch me for this guy I know nothing about."

"Emily, we work together." She said setting down the knife then turning to face me.

"You spend more time with him than you spend with me, hell you won't even let me sleep in the same bed as you."

And there we were, fighting at 8 in the morning.

"You know exactly why we aren't sleeping in the same bed Emily."

I sighed giving up and walking to the fridge to grab my water bottle. I changed into running clothes, making sure to slam the door on my way out.

I ran to the gym I work at, which Toby owned. I know weird, right? He moved on from the whole cop thing and opened a gym. Luckily it was acceptable here to be wearing running clothes, and no I wasn't sweaty and disgusting. Upon arriving I noticed my clients car already in the parking lot, it was Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Saturday was the day I trained Sarah, a blonde that hated her husband, yet wouldn't get a divorce, not my business though. She was hardworking and determined to meet her goals, which is what I liked most about her.

After going over what exercises we were going to be doing in our session I felt my phone buzz. Since I was training a client I had to ignore it because, well, she paid good money to have me train her. Fortunately, Sarah was the only person I had to train today so I could just go home after. I headed into the locker room, following behind the blonde wanting to change into sweatpants and a long sleeve.
