*Luna's P.O.V.*

I woke up to the sound of my parents fighting.

"Great..."

I decided to just get up and get ready. I hopped in the shower and cleaned myself, being careful of the scars on my wrists. I got out and dried off. I got dressed and then went downstairs to see what the commotion was.

"Hey." I said.

My mom sighed.

"Luna, did you pray last night for your grandfather?" She asked.

"Yes, I did. How is he?" I said, lying.

My parents are very religious and old school. They hate that I dress in all black and listen to rock and metal. They hate how I have piercings and a couple of tattoos. But what they don't know about me, they will hate even more. I'm bi. I know they won't accept me, they'll say I'm a satanist and kick me out. So I haven't told them.

"He is doing okay, but I think God is ready to take him in." My mom said, a tear escaping from her eye.

I made a bowl of cereal and sat down to eat.

"So, Luna. You are 21 years old now, do you have any plans to get a steady job and live on your own?" My mom asked.

So, a little background to me, I graduated high school and went to community college for science, something I had no interest in. My parents forced me to go to college, I would've went for music but they didn't want that. So I ended up dropping out last semester and I got fired from my job for not showing up. I was in a band but they kicked me out for no reason. I play guitar. So, I've just been living off of my parents for a couple of weeks. I want to move away from shitty Pennsylvania and go to Los Angeles. I've been saving up and I'm almost at my goal. My parents have no idea, I'm not sure if they'll support my idea.

"Yeah mom, I have plans." I said.

My dad went into the living room.

"I'm really praying for you sweetheart and I hope you can find your way." My mom said.

"Thanks mom." I said.

She kissed my forehead.

Sometimes I love them, sometimes I hate them. I know they really care about me but if I don't conform to their strict religious ways, they will completely disown me. I don't really follow religion at all but I tell them I do to make them happy.

"Luna, your father and I are going out, let us know if you're going out." My mom said.

"Okay, bye." I said.

"Bye sweetheart." She said.

They left and I put my bowl away. I went up to my room to talk to my girlfriend. We Skyped and then she had to go. I then decided to practice my guitar again. I played some Bvb, one of my favorite bands. I then started thinking about my plan.

"Okay, so, tell mom and dad you're bi first. If they kick you out, get a plane ticket to LA, then get an apartment. Try to socialize at events and get known. Join or start a band and make it big... it doesn't seem that complicated but I know it's gonna be harder than that. I should probably get a job to support myself while I'm there..."

"Luna!!" My mom yelled.

"Wow, they're back soon." I said to myself.

I went downstairs to see what was going on.

"Luna Marie Jefferson!" My dad yelled.

"What?" I asked, a little concerned.

"What is this?!" My mom yelled.

She held up a piece of paper. It was a note from my girlfriend. I took it and read it.

"Uh oh..."

"Uh, it's just a note from Maddy." I said.

"Madeline, she's your friend." My mom said.

"Yeah." I said.

I started blushing.

"Nothing more?" She asked.

"She's just my friend mom, why would she be anything more?" I said.

"Ok, good. Remember, homosexuality is a sin. You will go to hell if you are gay." My mom said.

"I know mom." I said.

I ran back upstairs as a tear slid down my face.

"Well, what am I gonna do now?" I asked myself.

I called Maddy and told her about what happened.

"Oh my god..." She said.

"Yeah, so, I'm probably not gonna come out to them." I said.

"That sucks so much, Luna. My parents are chill with it, but they aren't super religious either." She said.

"Wait, when did you come out?" I asked.

"Last week." She said.

"Oh, gotcha." I said.

"Yeah. Ok, I've gotta go, love you." She said.

"Love you too, bye." I said.

I hung up the phone and decided to listen to music and go on social media. Jake had posted a new YouTube video and I watched it. It was a guitar tutorial for 'Coffin'.

"Damn, I wish I had this while learning that song." I said. "He's so attractive... Maybe I can meet him someday."

I stayed on YouTube for the rest of the day and then it was time to go to bed. I went downstairs to say goodnight to my folks.

"Pray for Papa before you go to bed." Mom said.

"I will mom, goodnight." I said.

I went back up to my room hopped into bed.
