I went back to my room with Jessica.

"Nice going Cathleen! Sorry, I mean Cat," Jessica said. "You were number one!"

"It is about time," I joke.

I sat down at my desk and took a sheet of lined paper on our table. I started to write and think. Huh, why do I want to be an Erudite? After only getting 5 reasons down, I heard the loud speaker go off.

"New Erudites! When you are done with your reasons, give them to me in my office and then you may study, talk to neighbors, or do whatever you like. I suggest you start getting ready for bed around 8:30 because you have stage two tomorrow at 9:00 am. Thank you."

After I wrote all of my 10 reasons down, I started to head to Ms. Jeanine's office. After getting lost for 10 minutes, I finally found Ms. Jeanine sitting in a well lit room. They room was around the same size as Jessica and my room. It had a desk as big as a table and a black chair that Jeanine was sitting in.

"Hey, I have the reasons you wanted," I say nervously.

"Thanks, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure."

She motioned me to another black chair in front of her desk, I sat down.

"First I want to congratulate you for being first on the ranking board," she said with her legs crossed. "I bet you are very smart."

"Haha I guess."

"So, I want you to complete this tonight and give it back to me as soon as you can," she said giving me 4 sheets of paper. "I want to see how smart you really are."

"Got it," I said getting up from the chair.

"Oh I almost forgot, can you give this to my co-worker Grace? It is just some paper work."

"Will be done," I say walking out the door.

I just remembered that Grace was my tester for the Aptitude tests! I actually really what to see her.

I start heading to the long desk to look for Grace. Then I see a name tag that says "Grace" and look over at the girl. She is short with long blonde hair.

"Excuse me, you are Grace right?"

"That's me!"

"Ms. Jeanine told me to give this to you," I say handing her a stack of paper. "She said it was just paperwork."

"Thanks," she said. "Hey, didn't I have you for the Aptitude tests?"

"Yeah."

"Ha I remember you, you traded?"

"Yeah."

"Good choice."

I start heading to my room and find Jessica working on her reasons. After 5 minutes, I hear something from the other room, Caleb's room.

"Dude, how do I say it," I hear Caleb say. "What if she doesn't like me?"

"She will dude, she will understand," says Ethan.

"Fine, I will go and talk to her."

Then I hear a knock at the door and I answer. As expected, I see Caleb.

"Hey, what's up," I say casually like I didn't hear anything.

"Hey, are you busy?"

"Nah, why?"
