The next morning I pulled into my usual parking spot, next to Brooke. It sounds ridiculous, but the popular kids always claim their spots and no one else ever dares to park there. It's insane, but convenient if I'm honest. I shut my door and walk around to the back of Brooke's car where El, Louis, Josh, and Kyle, another one of my friends are standing. Brooke's trunk to her Jeep Compass was propped open for her and El to sit on. Louis was leaning up against the car beside El, clearly flirting with her. I sat beside Brooke and said hi to everyone. I noticed Josh staring at me. I had taken extra care to pick out my outfit this morning http://www.polyvore.com/new_slang/set?id=100394401&lid=3013515 though I wasn't sure why.
"Hey, Lan, you look hot! What happened to you last night? I called you like five times!" Brooke said, never failing to be dramatic."I had a thing." I said, shrugging I didn't want to get into it all in front of the guys. Brooke, oblivious to me trying to avoid the conversation, pressed on.
"What did you do? What could have happened that you didn't have your phone on you. Your phone is basically glued to your hand or in your pocket so I'm thinking, explain."
I rolled my eyes and said nothing. This only made her mad.
"What the hell, Lana? Why won't you tell me what you did last night?"
"Brooke, can you just drop it? I don't want to talk about it okay? Can you not see that?" I half yelled at her, throwing my bag over my shoulder and storming off. Okay, she probably didn't deserve that. But still, she could be so clueless!
"Lan, wait up!" Josh said, jogging to catch up with me. "Are you okay?"
I didn't look at him or stop walking. "Like you actually care, Josh."
He pulled my shoulder and stopped me from walking. "Lana, you broke up with me. Remember? If anything, you are the one who doesn't care. I never stopped caring. Now, come on, what's wrong?"
I suddenly felt guilty for snapping at him because I was annoyed with Brooke. "I'm sorry. That wasn't fair. Brooke just gets under my skin sometimes, that's all. It's no big-" I stopped short when I saw a brand new black range rover pull in and park right next to my car. Josh turned when I stopped talking.
"Woah, who is that?" He said, gaping at the car. It was gorgeous.
I watched as Harry stepped out of the vehicle and made his way towards the building. My stomach went into knots as he got closer. I looked at Josh, who groaned quietly and rolled his eyes. "Not his kid," he muttered.
Harry saw me then. He smiled as he walked by, not stopping or saying anything. I found myself staring after him. Josh cleared his throat. I gave him a smile before turning and walking into the building. I headed to my English literature class, walking in and taking my typical seat towards the back. The class filled up pretty quickly. El and Brooke walked in. Brooke quickly locked arms with her. They sat in the two seats in front of me. Brooke turned to glare at me. El quickly looked back apologetically. I rolled my eyes. Glad to see we were being mature.
Harry walked in as the late bell rang. He looked around and spotted me at the back. He then proceeded to take the seat right next to me, smirking as he sat down.
"Something funny?" I ask, rudely, annoyed with Brooke.
"Not at all," he said, still smirking at me.
"Then wipe that stupid smirk off your face." I said, slouching into my seat as the teacher began to talk.
"Woah, who peed in your cheerios this morning, love?" My heart fluttered a little when he called me that. It was cute.
