It is 9:15 at a small diner in a town protected by Odd Squad. A pretty brunette sits on a bar stool reading the newspaper, every few moments she lowers the paper to look around. Little does she know that a person from the past is about to appear.
Olive crossed her legs as she pretended to read the paper. The small ding of a bell indicated that a someone had opened the door. She glanced up but lowered her eyes back to the paper she was "reading". She didn't recognize the person who had entered, but little did she know that the person who had entered recognized her.
The tall male with dark brown hair and icy blue eyes walked directly towards Olive until he stood over her, faintly smiling.
"Excuse me but I'm afraid you're in my seat."
Olive looked up at him. " Let me guess, you're one of those people who comes to the same diner everyday, at the same time, orders the same thing, and sits in the same seat?" He smiled even more.
"No, but I did come to this particular diner today at 9:10 and order some banana pie."
He pointed to a plate with the food he had described. As Olive noticed it for the first time she flinched but otherwise managed to stay calm.
"You don't like pie?" The male asked as he leaned against the countertop smirking.
"I-I mean I wouldn't say-well I guess that-um let's just say that I had an altercation with someone in the past and that altercation involved p-p-pie."
He raised his eyebrows. " Ah I see."
Olive glanced around as he sat down on the barstool next to her. "I'm sorry diner guy-"
" Todd."
" Okay Todd, usually I love to talk to new people but I really don't have the time right now."
"Why?" He questioned as she put her purse on her lap.
"I-I just don't."
"Ah I see, would you mind if I do the talking for both of us?"
Olive rolled eyes and picked up her dropped newspaper. " Have at it, would you mind if I read the paper and stare aimlessly out the window while you two talk?"
"Not at all."
"Okay good."
Olive looked back at her paper as he began to talk.
(Very high pitched genuine voice) "Why hello there mysterious diner guy, you're handsome."
" Why thank you, I like to think so."
" What do you do for work."
" Well I do a little bit of everything actually. I'm a jack of all trades. But recently I've become a psychic detective."
"Oh that sounds dangerous and slightly sexy."
Olive dropped her newspaper in annoyance and turned to face him.
" Can I stop you right there? Why do I sound like a 7th grade Minny Mouse?"
" Well because in my portrayal of you, you only have a 7th grade education."
Olive sighed and clutched her purse even tighter, looking around.
" I really, really don't have the time for this."
Suddenly his jaw dropped as everything clicked.
" Oh my gosh you're a cop!"
Olive shushed him angrily, a frown on her face.
" I am not a cop." She lied.
" Yes you are." He replied smugly, a smirk on his face.
" I'm not, besides, how would you know that?" She whispered.
" I told you, I'm a psychic."
" No way, prove it."
He quickly scanned Olive, his keen sense for detail noticing grey and white cat fur around the ankles of her pantsuit.
He closed his eyes and put his middle fingers to his temples, imitating a psychic movement.
" I'm sensing that you have two cats; the grey one's very affectionate, however the white one is a little bit of a handful."
Olive's jaw dropped as she wondered how this stranger could have known something like that.
" W-what?" She spluttered. " How did you know that?"
He leaned backed, smirking once again.
" I told you twice and I'll tell you again-I'm psychic."
Olive opened her mouth to say something but immediately closed it as a big man wearing dark clothing and a dragon tattoo on his bald head entered the diner.
" Hey psychic, can I ask you a favor?"
He raised his eyebrows. "Sure."
" Duck."
" What do you mean by du-"
He was cut short as Olive whipped a gun out of her purse and aimed over his head and at the man who had entered.
" Freeze!" She yelled as three policemen ran into the diner and handcuffed the man's surrendered hands.
The first two policemen grabbed the man and led him out the door while the young blond policemen with grey eyes walked over to the two.
" Outstanding work partner." He grinned while he put an arm around her. Todd frowned at him.
"I see you've been making friends Olive, who's this?" The blond asked.
Olive shrugged his arm of her shoulder. " Chis meet Todd, Todd meet Chris."
Chris held out his hand towards Todd smiling in a way that Todd hated.
" Pleased to meet you Todd, I'm Olive's partner."
Todd forced a smile onto his face as he shook hands with him.
"Nice to meet you as well." He lied.
" Well I've got to take Olive back to the station to question a suspect, again it was nice to meet you." Chris said with a fake smile.
" Sure." Todd grumbled. " Bye scribbles."
" Bye." Olive answered. Only until she and Chris were in their cop car driving away did she understand what he had called her and who he really was.
Hi guys, sorry that it took me so long to write this. Writing a story is hard work. Anyway, I will update only if I get 2 reviews. The reviews can be complements or ways to improve my story, but please, no hate comments. Well I hoped you all enjoyed this. And remember, stay odd!😜
