Chapter 2

I woke up early in the morning because I forgot to close the window. I didn't know it's going to be that cold this morning. I saw my brother is not on his bed sleeping instead I heard him downstairs taking a shower. I fold my blanket and his and put it on top the shelf. Then I went downstairs to go to the bathroom. I didn't care if my brothers taking a shower, I'm still going to come in. I started brushing my teeth and washed my face with my pink cloth. I love pink. It's my favorite color in the universe. Anyway, I got out and went to the kitchen for today's breakfast.

"Good Morning, Daddy!" I said.

"Oh, hi hunny." he said with an inanimate look his face.

"Daddy, you don't look so good." I said with a doleful look.

Suddenly, my dad fell down and I cried. My brother came and saw my dad on the floor. He quickly ran as fast as he can to get the phone and called 911.

"Hello?! Hello?! Ma'am! My dad, m-my dad he's lying on the floor! And and! H-he looks like he's dead! A-and-"

"We'll be on our way and please tell me your address?" the lady asked.

"Um, um it's 91 Hickerberry Ave." as he hesitated.

"Thank you little boy" she said.

Bobby hung up the phone and we both heard the ambulance sirens gaining us. Then they hardly knocked on the door. The ambulance people took my dad and I kept crying.

"Do you know what's wrong with him?" I asked them.

"We have no clue, but all we know that he's ill ma'am." he said.

"Ok, take good care of him!" I nervously telled hoping he's going to be alright.

"We will ma'am." he said.

As they put him inside the ambulance truck, they left. But I just saw him yesterday all clean and fine! I don't know how that happen, but thar was a conundrum right there. I went upstairs with my brother and enter our room. I realized that we're both alone. I startled. I hopped on my bed and pondering about if I can go to the hospital tomorrow or tonight. Suddenly, I heard a phone rang so loud next to me. I answered it. It was Eric.

"Hey, Alice! How are you today?" he asked. I cried.

"Are you ok? What's wrong?" he asked.

"My dad. He's in the hospital....." I stopped.

"Aw. I'm sorry. Hey! About the book...."

"Yeah? What about it?" I asked curiously.

"Um yeah...the book is confusing..." he said.

"It was a different language...."

"Oh ok. Probably you can give it to me! Maybe I could understand."

"Alright, I'll give it to you riiiiiiight now." he said.

"Alright bye."

"Ok, bye." I gently hung up the phone with a smirk on my face.

"Aww.....you like him. I know you do!" as my brother tantalize me.

"Oh shut up Bobby. I don't like him like that. Besides, he's my friend." I said.

"Whatever....."he said.

I heard a knock on the door. I ran downstairs as fast as I could. u slowly opened the door and saw it was Eric.

"Here you go." he said with a smirk on his face.

"Thanks. Um, can we hang out just you and me next week?" I asked nervously.
