26 : The Christmas Ball ( II )

  " It's me Kaoru. " I gave him a little wave.  

" That voice... Sounds awfully familiar and so does your face! " Kaoru exclaimed.

" You still haven't figured it out? " I stared at him blankly as he shakes his head. And here I thought that Kaoru was the smarter twin.

" Wait! You're Min! No... Claire! " I nod my head." Wow... You seem really different... You're unrecognizable like this though... In a good way of course! " he added.

" Was I interrupting something? " Kaoru smirked.

" No, you weren't." Tamaki and I said at the same time.

" So what brings you out here? " I shrugged. Tamaki and I would have kissed if he hadn't interrupted. What was I thinking....

" Oh yes, M'lord you have to come in now! We'll see you later Min! " Kaoru waved at me then dragged a protesting Tamaki into the ballroom.

" Tonight's going to be a long one... " I said aloud. What do I do now? Perhaps I'll just go inside as well, it's pretty cold outside and I should return Tamaki his blazer.

I walked into the ballroom and there were classical music being played. Students were dancing the waltz gracefully with their partners. Well it's not that surprising since all these students are from rich families ad have been brought up this way.

Tamaki was nowhere to be found and it goes for the entire host club.

Personally, I never really learned ballroom dances. I was never interested in it and I never thought that I'd be dancing to it one day...

" Haruhi! " I smiled as soon as I saw her at the food table. She was in a sleeveless knee length dress with floral patterns on it and she had a long wig on her.

Haruhi's eyes traveled to me and she placed her plate down on the table as I made my way to her.

" Min?" she called out and I waved at her. " Wow... You're really beautiful tonight. " Haruhi smiled at me gently. One of the reasons why I like Haruhi is because she never seems to be putting up a facade, in one word, she's genuine. My favorite type of person. Probably the only reason why I'm not cold to her like I am to the entire student body.

" Thanks... You're really adorable tonight! Are you fine with the students knowing you're a girl though? " I asked.

" They just think I'm cosplaying as a girl. " she explained. It's either the students here are dumb enough to think she's cosplaying or they really have no suspicions of Haruhi being a girl...

" You should have some of these too, they're really good! " Haruhi passed me a plate of food.

" So you're not going to dance? "

" I don't think so, I don't really fit in these sort of parties. " she gave me a weak smile." the twins forced me into this getup so I'm actually content enough to be dressed up as a girl. It doesn't happen often. "

I patted her shoulder. Haruhi always seemed nonchalant about things but I guess deep down she's still a girl after all. 

" Haruhi, lets go shopping soon! " I said enthusiastically, I'm going to be her fairy godmother.

" I can't-"

" Everything will be on me! Just think of it as a little token for the things you've done to me ever since I joined this school. " I assured her. Haruhi has really been a great help ever since I transferred. She assessed me on tests, helped me out in the host club and the list goes on.

" But-"

" Nope you're not allowed to say no. Oh! There's Ryou! See you later Haruhi! " I smiled as I approached Ryou.

" Ryou! " he was surrounded by girls, not that I'm surprised.

" Hey Claire. " he waved back.

" No way! She's the real thing? "

" She must be... Since Ryou knows her..."

" Ladies, I'll be right back. " Ryou winked at them as I gagged internally.
" I see you're still the same old playboy. " I crossed my arms.

" Do I sense jealousy? " he smirked.

I rolled my eyes and dragged him out of the ballroom into the hallway. " Listen, where's Leo? "

" You're really beautiful tonight Claire... Too much cleavage showing though, " Ryou places his palms on the wall." Not that I mind. " he whispered into my ears. This playboy really needs some sense knocked into him.

" Ryou, " I placed my hands on his neck and pulled him closer to me. He must not have expected this as he blinked repeatedly. Then I reached for his ears and blew air into it.

" that's it? "

I smirked." What were you thinking of-"

" Claire! " a voice sounded from behind.

Oh great, the other twin.

" Oh and Ryou-senpai! "

I pulled away from Ryou but he held my hand as Hikaru came closer to us.

" Oh... " Hikaru's eyes wandered to where my hands were and his expression changed." Was I interrupting something? "

Is this some sort of deja vu?

" No, you weren't. " I pulled away from Ryou's grip." I'll leave you to your ladies then Ryou. Adios. "

I quickly left and made my way to the garden, it was just around the corner after all and I didn't want to go back into the ball room.

I sat on a bench as I draped Tamaki's blazer on my shoulders and starting humming to a song as I stared aimlessly at the fountain. The sound of the water was relaxing.

" Hey there."

Ugh, it's Hikaru.

" Hey. " I tried my best to be professional with him. I don't have anything against him personally but for some reason, he just ticks me off whenever I see him.

Face problem?

I don't know.

Hikaru took a seat beside me. He was in a navy tuxedo and his hair was swept to the side. " So Min kept his promise... Thanks for coming though, Claire. "

" It's no big deal. " I could tell that Hikaru was nervous, not that he had to if he knew who I was. He's himself when I'm Min and he's so...reserved when I'm Claire.

" Claire... I don't know how to say this but... " His face started getting redder.

What in the world just happened? Hikaru blushing is not normal, it's as if unicorns exist, in which they don't.

" You're really beautiful tonight... " he looked away, his face a bright shade of red. I could see it even though we were under dim light.

" Thanks, Hikaru. " I kinda have a bad feeling on what would happen next so... I'll just return to the ballroom." It's getting chilly outside...I'll head in first. " I wrapped Tamaki's blazer around me tighter. I wasn't exactly lying to Hikaru though, the wind was getting stronger.

" Is that... Tamaki's? " Hikaru asked. This is probably the first time I've heard him calling Tamaki by his name.

" Yeah. I'll see you inside Hikaru. "

" Wait!" Hikaru pulled my hand. How many times does this guy intend to stop me from entering the building?

I breathed in deeply before turning to Hikaru with my sweetest smile. " What is it Hikaru? "

Then, he pulled me into a hug.

Oh boy, this really is going to be a long night.

It's Friday! TGIF! Three minutes till midnight :)

How has your week been? Mine was filled with the preparation for a certain event and it has been exhausting. Oh well, enjoy your weekends!
