A bell rang throughout the restaurant and two dishes slid through the slit in the wall. "Two orders of tacos for table five!"The waiter/waitress, that was finishing on cleaning one of the tables, perked up at said sentence, quickly digging the cloth in their apron's pocket and fast walking to the orders. They got the tray and put the plates on them, walking to the fifth table and putting the plates in front of the couple, a fair skined brunet wearing a pastel blue dress shirt and khakis with brown shoes, and an African-American woman wearing a dark blue knee length dress.
The waiter's/waitress' name is (Y/N). They're (age) year old adult working in a restaurant as, what you already know, a waiter/waitress. They have (E/C) eyes, (H/L), (H/C), (H/S) hair, (S/C) skin and their favourite colour is (F/C).
"Would you like your drinks to be refilled?"
"Yes, please."Clink, clink.
Life's been easy since they got their job; their boss payed well, the staff got along, the place was always in order -like it has to be-, and they liked their position in said staff. They could afford a small, two story, cream coloured house near the restaurant (they reminded themselves that they have to repaint it since the paint was peeling off from the bottom) and they lived alone. They only worked Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
Clank, clank.
"Thank you."
With a nod, (Y/N) went back to cleaning the tables; they looked up at the time set in the corner of one local channel playing on one of the various televisions around the restaurant. Thirty two minutes and their shift is over. Thirty two minutes to go home. Thirty two minutes to change out of their uniform. They smiled.
Thirty two minutes until they did something stupid.
"Today was busier than ever, huh?" A short, chubby young woman about nineteen years old, with long, thick, wavy, reddish dark brown hair, deep brown eyes -with eye bags under them-, strong eyebrows, slight freckles, a tan but pale complex, and pink doll lips, asked (Y/N), playing with two lollipops left behind by two children on one of the tables near the cash register.
"Sure was. Hey, remember that guy with the bird tattoo?" (Y/N) grinned and put the chairs in place as they tried to hold back their laughter.
The girl bursted out laughing, dropping the lollipops and leaned back on her chair, putting her hand over her eyes. "That was hilarious! What was funnier was the girl wit-" The sound of broken glass resounded all over the place, making both of them stop laughing and jumping a tad. A faint 'Fuck!' followed after.
"Damn it, Carlos," the brunette turned to the kitchen doors, "I told you to be more careful!" she rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"It's not my fault, it was Brandon's!" Carlos yelled, opening the doors and taking off the cloth wrapped around his shaved head. He was a dark skined, 38 year old man with dark brown to almost black eyes, a not so large nose, strong eyebrows, pale, long thin lips, and a body that said 'Yes, I exercise'.
"This is going out of your paycheck, you know?" (Y/N) took the cloth on the table beside them and threw it on their shoulder, crossing their arms over their chest and chuckling.
Carlos turned to (Y/N) with a glare, "You didn't need to say it."
(Y/N) shrugged and walked to the staff room, taking off their apron and retrieving their bag on the floor beside a chair and walking back out. "By the way, Malintzin, you forgot your earbuds yesterday on my sofa." They dug them out of their bag and threw them at Malintzin, her catching them in time before it hit her on the face.
