LUKE'S POV

I was looking at Mandie when I felt Macy go over.

"MACY!", I cried.

The next thing I knew I was jumping in the water. The cool water engulfed me as I popped my head up for air.

"MACY!!!MACY!!", I cried desperately.

"Luke!", Macy said swimming to me. "What are you doing in the water?!"

"I --I don't know...I had to make sure you were safe.", I said. I was tired and my words were separated with breaths desperate for air.

"Luke, I can swim you know.", Macy said, lightly chuckling.

"I know, I know", I replied as I pulled her into me for a hug. I placed my chin on top of her head and held her waist. Her head buried into my neck and I stroked her hair. She smelled like sea spray.

Once Mandie had realized that not one, but two men were overboard she called the life guards and they hauled us out of the water. We had been in the water for some time so they rushed us to the hospital despite how many times Macy protested.

The doctors there checked our body temperature and vital signs and said we were okay to go home. We just had to get some shots first to prevent phenomena.

Macy and I waited in the same room. She kept fiddling with her hands and biting her lip. I reached out and grabbed her cold, soft hands. She looked up at me with shock.

"Macy..", I whispered as I got closer to her and looked her straight in the eyes. They hasn't changed since she was little and were as green as the grass.

"Calum didn't cancel on me, he never was invited to the boat ride. I just wanted to go with you.", I said quietly. I could feel her warm breath on my lips. I cupped her face and was about to kiss her when the doctor came in to give our shots. We scrambled away from each other and I saw Macy's eyes widen at the doctor.

"Niall?", she gasped.
