I stretch my arms as I enter my room for a nice shower. I take a moment for some self-reflection as the warm water slithers down my body. It felt nerve racking to fight an opponent that can deflect bullets and blink the same way Tracer does. Sure it did, but that was one day, I am not used to fighting people like Evan. As I get out of the shower, I check my phone displaying the current time. Five minutes before Evan and Tracer will be at the mess hall for lunch. I quickly dry myself off and put on blue jeans, a t-shirt, sneakers, and the Valhalla keycard.
I look around the room notice that I still have my PS4 with four controllers. I haven't used it in a long time, as I didn't have enough to create a good set up at the storage facility. Maybe I can set it up in Valhalla, it has more space than my room and Evan has to see Valhalla before we leave for Australia. I walk out of the room and head for the mess hall.
As I pass through the two metal doors, I stop for a minute to scan the room. As I look, I spot Tracer and Evan sitting at a table. I quickly went through the buffet line and snatch myself a steak sandwich, chips, and water. Man, I miss gourmet food, it has been a long time since I ate a decent meal rather than having to go for fast food. I head to the table as Evan and Tracer were done talking.
"That spar was great". I say with a smirk. "I never thought that I would fight a man that can deflect bullets with a sword."
Evan turns his head around. "Aaron, you are a quick learner. You really did surprise me with that water gun. I bet there is nothing else that can top that." Evan spoke while eating a slice of pepperoni pizza from the box. Well, so much for going through the buffet line.
"You only saw a fraction of what I made. I can show you my hardware in Valhalla." I said before taking a couple bites from the sandwich.
Evan grew a confused look on his face. "Valhalla? What is that?"
I gave myself a few moments to swallow my food. "It is a room I get my weapons from, which is near my bedroom. I can take you there once we are done eating."
Tracer taps me on the shoulder to get my attention.
"Just a heads up, be sure to head to the conference room at 6:00PM for your mission briefing. Aaron, I need to talk to you for a minute."
I flashed a neutral look on my face. "Aright then."
I follow Tracer out of the mess hall into the hallway. Tracer faces me and takes a moment."Listen, I need to let you know that you're helping out planning the mission in Australia. So be prepared to find out how to take on their latest shipment of weapons."
I nodded, but felt a bit weird from this bit of news. I have been given so much expectation from these people ever since I arrived here, but I am not as capable as they are making it out to be. "I am ready to take on Reaper or Widowmaker without getting killed?" I asked in a nervous tone.
Tracer smiles and puts her hands on my shoulders. "Don't worry, love. Evan has your back."
I breathed a sigh of relief, I forgot my partner can blink and deflect bullets. It felt weird that my first mission would be one of them.
"Thanks for the heads up."
"No problem, just remember to head to the conference room at 6:00. In the meantime, I would spend some time with Evan. This is the last day before your first assignment and it be great if you two knew each other."
Tracer walks back into the mess hall as I stood for a few seconds before walking back to the mess hall to see Evan finishing up his food.
Evan looks up to me. "Hey, can we head over to this Valhalla room?"
