A cold wind blew across the empty street. The dim streetlights flickering above the sidewalk. The large clock tower rings telling those who were listening that, it is indeed, three in the morning. The security guard finished her rounds then moved on to the next site. I sat and waited for her to get out of earshot so I could get on with my plans. I lept off the building I was sitting on. My feet hit the wet cement without a sound. The rain finally tapered out from the harsh storm not to long ago. The scent of mud and rain filled my nose as I walked towards the unguarded door to the bank. The wind rushed through the empty streets and blew around the buildings making a hollow moaning sound. I easily unlocked the door with a stolen key card and slipped through the newly opened door. There was no sound in the building not even the tick of a clock as i slipped out of sight of the cameras and into the vents.the sleek blues and purples of my suit in the darkness of mt hiding space gave me enough cover to slip into the shadows and towards the main controls for the security system, which frankly needs to be upgraded 3 years ago. I cut the power making all the camera's shutter to a stop. They will be playing the same video for the next 30 minutes. A smirk graced my cheeks as I casually walked down the empty corridors. The object for why i'm here, the large vault, came into view. I looked to the camera above the vault door and blew it a little sarcastic kiss. If they uncovered this footage, which they probably won't, the looks on their faces would be priceless. The people who work here are either extremely stupid or are trying to get the bank robbed by someone like me. The code to open the vault was scratched into the wall under the keypad. The second i walk through this vault i'll trip the silent alarms, 310 seconds until the guard comes back, when i trip the alarm i have 460 seconds until the cops arrive. Go, i put all i can into my bag and leave the vault. I sneak up behind the guard and put her in a sleeper hold. I'm Scot free... unless what was that? Out of the corner of my eye. I turned and there she is, Black Magic, I think they call her. Her blonde hair flowed behind her and her green eyes shone above the mask covering the bottom half of her face.
"Well, well, well, Mind's Melody who could have known it'd be you i was stopping tonight?" she laughed. LAUGHED no one laughs at me especially during my heists! I kept my cool and put on my signature smirk.
"Oh really? Who? Please do tell the suspense is killing me." I snarled right back. Her smile just grew. She jumped from the terrace and landed on her feet in front of me.
"Come on Melody give over the jewels and we won't have any problems. I'll even let you go this time." she smiled sweetly but I heard the threat behind her words.
"You know I don't really want to at the moment. Maybe next time dear?" I smiled even sweeter as her smile fell into a frown and her eyebrows creased together. I turned away from her and walked to the front door. I rested my hand on the handle but before I left I looked over my shoulder to see her raise her hand and a black mist like substance seeped from her fingers.
"I warned you Melody! You should have taken my deal!" The shadows around us raised from the floor and wrapped around me. The coils wrapped around me started to take the shape of a large snake. I felt the creaking of my ribs as it tightened. I cried out and dropped the bag i was holding. I looked into her eyes and a familiar song started playing. Black Magic's hand fell to her side and the snake around me slipped back into shadow. I collapsed holding my chest. A hot flash of pain and anger flared through my body. I stood and walked silently towards the statue stiff form of Black Magic. I glared her down and gave a hard right hook to her jaw. I heard a sickly pop as her jaw got dislocated. She finally found the strength to fight back. She swung her arm and i ducked. I gave her a quick kick to the chest sending her flying into the wall. Another crack as her bones snapped under the pressure. I walked over to her dazed body giving another sock to the nose knocking her out effectively.
