Phil sighed as the car shut off and the rain began to beat against the windshield even harder.

"This isn't what I had in mind," he huffed as he sat back in the seat, his hand softly pushing at his seatbelt. "Maybe we should just go home, it's raining too hard to get out of the car. I could barely see where I was driving!" Exclaiming out of frustration was normally my thing but I could tell that this dinner meant a lot to him, even if it was just a spontaneous idea.

"It's okay, Phil," I replied, patting the hand that was resting on his seatbelt gingerly. "We can still go eat."

"But I had other things planned," he said lowering his head.

I sighed before a bolt of lightning flashed and thunder cracked above us.

"Come on, a little weather isn't going to stop us."

He grabbed his jacket and pulled it over his head and opened the door, stepping out into the rain. I could feel the cool air rush in right before the door closed. He rushed inside and waited for me to join him. Following the same pattern I reached the door and laughed as I saw Phil griping about his new shoes getting wet.

"You're so cute when you're upset," I said as we sat at a table for two.
