Ch.6 A phone call

(Dans pov)
"Well we tried" I sniffled. "I guess I'm just going to let them change him and bring him back" I whined. Louise took a deep breath in as her sweaty palms grasped the steering wheel. "Look Dan, Phil might not come back the same." She said before she took a deep inhale. "But at least.." she chocked "he'll come back..." she whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek. We drove in silence all the way back home. When we pulled up to the drive way Louise leaned back in her seat and grabbed my hand. I looked over at her tear stained face "we can get through this together" Louise said as she gave me a hug. "Thanks.." I smiled as I undid my seatbelt. " I have to go pick up Darcy" she sniffled. "Alright...bye Louise! Thanks so much!" I sighed as I got out of the car and closed the door. I went inside my home and collapsed on the couch. "What was I going to do?" I asked myself. "I have to find Phil!" I sobbed. I could hear the muffled sounds of my phone buzzing and ringing like crazy upstairs. I buried my face in the blankets and hoped the sound would go away but It didn't. I sluggishly rolled off the couch and pulled myself upstairs. The phone buzzing and ringing was getting louder. When I got upstairs I found my phone in phil's room. My shaky hand reached for my phone. When I picked my phone up I read all the unknown number notifications. I unlocked my phone to see I had missed 35 calls from this unknown number. My finger hesitated to press the call back option but I somehow forced it to. Every second the phone rang it felt like torture. Suddenly, someone picked up on the other end. "Hello dan, we have phil here with us, we are calling to inform you that Phil will be returning in two days." The voice said. I smiled and felt my eyes water. I could hardly speak now, all I could manage to say was "T-thanks..." and then I hung up.
