"Will, I think you have noticed the color is a bit different on your Eevee than any other Eevee you've seen." My mother noted.

"Yeah, what's up with that?" I asked. As I looked at my Eevee more closely, I noticed the fur was a bit grayer, but it had this gleam to it, like it was shining.

"Will, don't you know that your Eevee is shiny?!" Sabrina said a bit abruptly.

"Shiny? What's that mean?" I asked.

"Being the son of one of the most famous Professors in the world, I thought you would have known! I mean, they're basically treasures in the Pokemon world!" Sabrina noted.

"Well, I haven't come across many shinnies to show him, but the ones I have come across go strait to Professor Oak or Elm. But enough about that, let's have you three battle! Will can battle against Rocky, and who ever wins can battle Sabrina.

"YEAH! LET'S DO THIS!" Rocky yelled in excitement.

My mom lead us to a room I new all too well. This, this was my mom's battlefield. She doesn't usually battle, but I always dreamed of battling here. I had memorized every nook and cranny to this place. There was a river that ran vertically through the battlefield, but the rest of the field was just soil and boulders.

"I will be the ref. You may have five minutes to learn your Pokemon's moves before you battle." My mom said.

Me and Eevee went into the good corner because it had AC.

"So, let's see your moves." I said. What did Eevee do? Just say down and looked at me. "Um, Eevee, I don't know about you, but I don't want you to get your butt whooped." I said as I picked Eevee up.

"Eevee." It said as it licked my face.

"That tickles Eevee, please... Stop..." I laugh uncontrollably.

"What is Will doing? Rocky is over there training, while Will is just messing around. He's not taking this seriously..." Sabrina says.

"Well, he's making a bond with his Pokemon. Most people don't understand how important that is. If you have a Pokemon that is trained well, like a Charizard, but doesn't like you, then you could be in trouble. But, if you have a Pokemon that loves you, that can be better than any Pokemon in the world." The Professor said.

"I don't think that's true. Especially now. No matter what will does, his Eevee is still battling against a trained Machop. He can't win." Sabrina points out.

"You never know..." The Professor replies. She looks at the time. "Ok, time's up trainers! It's time to battle!" Both of us walk to our respectful places.

"Crap... I don't know any if Eevee's moves... I'm sorry Eevee." I start to cry.

"TRAINERS, BEGIN THE BATTLE!" The Professor yells.
