Ate as in the same as the number 8 (eight)

Get it ? Because this is the eighth rant and ate is pronounced the same way as eight ayeee-

*cough*

Anyhow, today I want to go on the subject of a cringe fest again. (After all, isn't this what this rant book is all about?)

Masochistic readers

No not the actual readers, but how the author depicts the readers.

Now this, my friends, is where we shall go to the Dere side. Specifically Yandere.

I won't get too deep into this since I believe that the majority of you would've known by now what a "Yandere" is, but if you don't know, the term basically describes a person who has an insane, psychotic obsession of another person and would do anything and everything to keep said person in their grasp.

And you bet your ass that they will definitely kill you to keep you if needed.

They will hurt you, physically and mentally, all for act of persuading you to be with them. they will not care about your thoughts, how you feel, so basically you can't protest.

Their only thought is to get you.

Which brings us back to the main point,

I've had my fair share of Yandere x Readers story, and I'd go reading them, hoping for a good time, with y'know some expectations in mind.

Like how will they fall in love ? in this twisted sense of, if you could even call that "love" ? Will the Yandere character change, will the "reader" puts up a fight? How? Will he/she be able to escape?

Now I get it I get it some of us might want to explore the masochistic side in all of us (don't lie, we all does, I know you're lying if you say so otherwise, don't do that, fairy godmother will frown) and would not mind if authors depicted the readers (in a literal sense, you) as submissive, pain-seeking puppet that lovesss being hurt.

And I'm fine with that except there's always a theme.
For instance;

The random (80% of the time, good-looking) character: "I LOVE YOU LETS BE TOGETHER FOREVER DON'T THINK OF LEAVING ME OR I'LL SLICE YOU OPEN AND EAT YOU~~~"

The readers depicted in the story: "OKE~"

"~The End~"

... . .  .

WhAaaatt???

Who the heck would do that? there must be different story styles of the same genre other than this right?

-you would thought, but nope. Well no- actually there are but this type of story is , unfortunately, the pattern for a l o t of the stories I've read.

Now maybe it's just me and maybe that I have selected the wrong ones. And maybe my friends have selected the wrong ones as well. That could be the case but I'm sure there's really, quite an amount of these kinds of books compared to normal type.

And well, in conclusion, there's not much. I understand that it's a popular thing for crazy insane obsession-like "love" but let's keep it to a minimum. Because author-sama(s), if you're reading this, not all the readers are what you depicted them to be. There's a variety of us and we're all different. If you have a specific personality for readers, please at least insert x (personality)!readers so we know what we're coming for. Better yet, you can also just insert your oc to save the trouble XD

So yeah, don't do the above example.

Just don't.

thAnk you soooo much! as always~ and we'll really appreciate it. 😌
