" OMG Lafina, STOP laughing." Sammie's screeching voice rang out in the corridor. I kept laughing, I couldn't help it. I try to stop, but once I start going I can't stop.
Everyone's head was turned towards me started staring at me like I was a psycho. Well, In some ways, I am. A psycho that is. I go to a therapist for - well I guess you guys already know.
Other than that I'm a normal 15 year old girl. I have brown hair that goes down to my waist, and green hazelish eyes, I'm not the most popular girl at my school (for obvious reasons) But everyone 'knows' me as Laffy Taffy. I'm kind of awkward to have around, and people are usually cautious not to say anything funny around me.
I was standing at my locker gathering my things when I heard Sammie say something that wasn't that funny, just sarcastic, I tried to control myself, But I was just an explosion of laughter waiting to happen.
I was bent over laughing, I tried to control my breathing but failed, yet again. Sammie glared at me in disgust and stalked off as the bell rang.
I sat down against my locker and took three deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. My therapist suggested I try to do that every time I have one of my laugh attacks. It works sometimes, but most times It just makes me snort.
This time, being one of my lucky times, My breathing steadied out and I wiped away the tears streaming down my face.
Quickly gathering my things I rushed to class.

The school day was over and I stuffed my binders into my bag and rushed out of the school. I couldn't wait to get home. I basically sprinted all the way home. As I stepped into the house my mom's perfect melodic voice rang out, "Hello darling, I'm in the kitchen!" I took off my shoes and placed my bag on the floor by the door, walking to the kitchen.
My mom was in the kitchen cooking something that smelt like citrusy and garlicky. I'm not really sure what that leads you to believe she's cooking, but it must be yummy.
My mom is a chef, She works at this french cuisine restaurant called "Le Cordon Bleu" and usually works late nights. I was surprised that she was at home.
When I stepped in the kitchen my mom came over and kissed my head "Hey darling, How was school?" I replied groaning "It's school, Same as always."
I looked at her and noticed something was off, I quirked my head at her and asked "Hey mom?" She glanced at me and I took that as a sign to continue, "Are you okay? You seem a bit off." Her eyes that usually twinkled were now dull, only a hint of the light they used to hold was there.
" Sweetie, I need to tell you something." I looked at her in confusion. She took a deep breath and said " You're sick honey." I just stared blankly at her "What do you mean 'I'm sick', Mom I'm fine, I just have a little cough that's all." She shook her head as a tear fell down her face "You're sick darling, your lungs are weak and are failing."
I was confused, my brain couldn't process all this. I was blanking out, I looked at her and said " I need a moment."
With that I rushed up the stairs and laid on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. What was going on? I couldn't be sick, could I?
I couldn't breath at that moment, I started to cough, and the coughing went on for what seemed like forever, until it all faded into blackness...

I woke up to the sounds of beeping they were everywhere. I was laying in a bed that wasn't mine. The walls were a boring depressing grey whereas in my room they were rose gold and pink.
I tried sitting up but winced and sat back down. My head was pounding and my breathing was jagged and unsteady.
I winced every time a took a breath. My mom was sitting across the room asleep in a chair. But when i coughed she instantly woke up and made a sound that sounded like a cross between a cry and a laugh.
She rushed over and embraced me in a hug, It was nice to have familiar face in sea of unfamiliar faces, she was my light in world full of darkness.
After that my life was a blur, a nurse rushed in started speaking about some random things. I couldn't bother to listen. She came up to me with this needle, my mom was on the side watching me and what seemed to be reassuring me, but I couldn't tell.
The nurse injected some blue liquid into me and my whole body relaxed. I felt like I was in a dream. My mom had her hands over her mouth and was a sobbing mess. I smiled at the sight of her and started laughing. She seemed to be scared, she ran up to me and grabbed my hand.
The nurse rushed out of the room and came back with another needle. She injected me with the needle that had some clear liquid and my mouth went numb, I couldn't move it or feel it.
I had nothing else to do but sleep, So I let my eyes flutter closed as I drifted off..

I woke up in a the same room but my mom wasn't there and the beeping noises were gone. Everything was so quiet, Absurdly quiet. I tried sitting up and I had no troubles. I felt as I always felt.
I threw my legs over the edge of the bed and placed them on the floor, I tried putting a bit of weight on them and nothing happend so I stood up and smiled. It worked.
I made my way to the door and weirdly enough, the hospital was empty, like a ghost town. I checked every room, every closet, every turn. No one was there, except me that is.
I decided to go back and lay down on my bed. I climbed into the bed and pulled the covers over my body. The last thing I heard was the line go flat... Hey big guy...
