I woke up on September first due to an incoming call. I didn't bother checking who it was and just answered, a bit annoyed because I hate being woken up.

"Hello?" I grumbled, half asleep.

"Happy birthday, loser!" Ryan screamed into my ear, causing me to jump. "Unlock your windowww! We want in!"

I furrowed my eyebrows slightly, and lifted my head up. "We?"

There was a knock at my window, and Ryan was smiling like an idiot, pointing down to the lock. He ended the call and shoved his phone back in his pocket, now waving.

I groaned tiredly and got up, tossing my comforter off of my torso, which left me in my sweatpants and shirtless. I walked over to the window and unlocked it, yawning after I slid it open. Ryan climbed in and wrapped his arms around me in a hug. "My child is an adult! All grown up!"

I snickered and pushed him away playfully. "Idiot." I smirked, flicking his nose with my thumb and middle finger. A small thump indicated someone else had came in, and I glanced past Ryan to see my boyfriend, sitting on his ass on the floor, flowers in hand. The little dork fell.

"I didn't know you had other men, babe," He teased as he held up the flowers for me. I took the bouquet of black and deep red roses, blushing like mad. "Do you like them?"

I nodded and kneeled down to hug him. "Thank you, Chris. You didn't have to, baby." I said softly.

He shrugged and hugged back, kissing my cheek. "I wanted to.. Ryan has something for you too." He chuckled as I pulled away.

I stood up again, gently setting the roses on my dresser before looking at Ry. "Where's my present, shithead?"

"Why is it that he doesn't have to give you a present and I do?" He whined, reaching in his backpack for whatever he'd brought me.

"Well, you've known me for nearly six years. It's like the unwritten rule of long-term friendship, Ry," I said as if it were simple, laughing a little. "Plus I'm your favorite homo, so I deserve a present from my favorite hetero."

"But what if Chris is my favorite homo?" He chuckled, pulling out a small box from his bag.

"He's not a homo." I smirked, giggling as Chris wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I am one of those bisexual things." He chuckled, kissing my temple.

"One of those gothic punks." I teased, giving Ry a 'thank you' as he handed me the box. I already knew what it was. Every year on my birthday, Ryan gives me a guitar pick. Depending on the year, I get a different band logo on each one. Two years ago, however, Ryan gave me a pride one, since it was the year I came out as gay to him. I opened the box and gasped softly. For the first time, Ryan got me a Korn pick! I smiled brightly and pulled away from Chris, wrapping my arms around Ryan's neck in a hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ryan!" I gushed. "Dude this is badass!"

"Lemme see, beautiful!" Chris laughed as I pulled away from Ryan. I handed him the box with the pick, and he smiled at it. "Fuckin' awesome."

I nodded and took the box back, setting it on my dresser. "Thank you, Ry. Really."

"No worries, loser. Now c'mon. I wanna go on a walk."

"Can Chris come?" I asked, wanting to spend my birthday with both my best friend and my boyfriend.

He nodded and climbed out of the window again. "I get you to myself all week, so it's only fair you get to see him on the weekend. Besides, he's decent."

I smiled and kissed Chris' cheek. "After you, my dear," He smirked, helping me climb through the window. I waited on the roof for him to get through, and paused.
