The 2016 election will be one for the history books. It was a roller coaster ride from beginning to end, starting with yet another Bush family member, along with everyone's favorite, Bernie Sanders, and then the jaw dropping realization that Donald J. Trump, wealthy businessman, would be running in the race to the White House. There was a long, winding, and bumpy road ahead for all Americans as the election process progressed. From email scandals to sexual assault allegations, there were many obstacles for both candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, to overcome. Many different opinions on the country's biggest issues arose in between the debates and commercial advertising that come along with any election. While many republicans and democrats alike supported Trump and his loud, overbearing opinions, it was looking like Secretary Clinton would be packing her bags for the move to Washington D.C. All hope for an easy defeat was lost on election night. As the electoral vote counts came rolling in, it was a tight race. Donald Trump was pulling ahead for many hours, but thousands of Hillary supporters still had hope that the west coast would bring her back up in votes. Tragically, the Trump supporters overpowered those who sported the hashtag "imwithher" and Donald J. Trump, millionaire republican who was thought of as a joke, was named the nations 45th president.
