It was the day of annual ALDC showcase. Everyone at the studio was very excited to show their families their dance skills. One person in the families who was NOT looking forward to watching the recital was William Frazier, Nia's ten year old brother. Every year he dreaded going to the recital. He was always teased about Mackenzie since she's about his age. Clearly, he didn't like Mackenzie at all.

At 1:00 pm, William's dad called him and his brother E.J. from downstairs to come from their room because it was time to watch Nia in the show. Holly and Nia had already left to get ready for the performance. Dreadfully, the brothers walked downstairs and hopped in the car. Evan, their dad, was eager to watch Nia onstage, but E.J. and William could care less about dance.

"Guess what!" Evan, their dad, exclaimed.

"What!?" The boys shouted spontaneously.

"Our seats are going to be right next to my buddy Randy Hyland and his son Josh!" Their dad announced happily.

E.J, however, was not happy about this. He and Josh did not get along at all. They were always expected to be friends since they were in the same grade and their sisters were in the same dance classes, but they weren't. This was going to be a tough two hours for E.J., especially now that they were sitting near Josh.
