Lauren's POV

After what happened yesterday, I came back to work like nothing happen.

Liam was right. I shouldn't let my feelings towards Ethan affect me. He is here for a reason. And whatever it is, I don't give a damn about it.

I should focus on my career right now that is excelling. Slowly, all of my hard work will be paid off.

"Good morning Ms. Lauren. Today we have a new intern from Canada."

"I'm sorry Heather. Are we expecting one?"

" Yes Ms. Lauren. The background about the intern is on your desk."

"Oh. Yeah. I'm sorry. I wasn't able to check it. Can you tell me who is this and when is this new intern coming?"

"I believe the intern you're talking about is me."

You got to be kidding me! Among all the interns wanting to be in my shop, why does it have to be Ethan Price! I mentally slapped my self. I shouldn't act like this. I should prove to him that I am better without him. And that I am not affected with his presence.

"Good morning Mister?"

I pretended I don't know him.

"Mr. Ethan Price. And you must be the famous Ms. Lauren Scott."

"Well, I believe so. Anyways, you will be my intern for the next 3 months of your stay here at London. I believe you have the skills Ciel Delight is looking for you that's why you are assigned here."

"Yes Ms. Lauren."

"And by the way, I have rules for interns like you. I want you to be always on time. You should always wear your uniform. And I don't tolerate any mischievousness in the shop. Strictly no public display of affection within the shop premisis. I expect you to work professionally. Heather, please escort Mr. Price to his locker and give him a tour around the shop. Tell him the do's and dont's. You know what to do."

"I would like you Ms. Lauren Scott to personally give me the tour. In that way I could learn maybe even better."

The nerve of this guy! And he's expecting me to just give in like that. I walked slowly near him that we were just an inch away from each other.

"Mr. Ethan Price, I have so many things to take care of. And you are not on the list. I don't have time for people like you. Now, if you still want to be here, TAKE THE TOUR WITH HEATHER!" Everyone around stared at us. That should do it. He asked for it. He deserves it. And it's just the start of what he needs.

I rushed back to my office and saw the file Heather was talking about. I sat back in my chair and put some music on to calm my nerves. As I read on his files, he has been in Canada for over 8 years. But he only started being a Pastry Chef on his 3rd year of his stay.

What did he do for the first 2 years of his life in Canada?

"Hey Lauren. You busy?"

Mike knock on my door. I forgot to apologize to Mike for bailing on him yesterday. After I went to Liam's house, I just dropped by the shop to see how things were going. And then I left and went straight to my house.

"Come in Mike. I'm just reading through my intern's file."

"Yeah. I heard Ethan's your intern."

"I can't believe how faith is favouring all of this. After what happen. Ugh! I just hate this."

"Lauren, you have manage to become who you are now. I believe in you. I'll always do. This is just another obstacle in your life you are about to over come. Cheer up sissy. I hate to see a frown on your face."

"Aweeee. You are ever so sweet Mikey! Haha. See, I'm smiling already. And hey, don't worry I'll perfectly handle this. Okay? And by the way, I want to apologize-"

"Apology accepted sis."

"Wait. What? I haven't even mention anything yet!"

"Whatever it is, I will always accept your apology. You're my little sister after all."

I stood up and hugged my brother. He always makes me smile and he's always there for me through thick and thin. He left me a cup of Hot Chocolate Latte and some cookies to brighten up my day. After I had my breakfast, Heather told me Ethan was ready.

Ethan was ready, but I am not.

After what felt like years of being with Ethan in the kitchen, the day has finally ended. All throughout the day, I managed to explain and work things out during the baking and designing process.

We had a couple awkward glances but I didn't mind. This routine went on for a couple of weeks until,

"Lauren. I need to talk to you."

"I'm sorry Mr. Price but did you forgot about the rules? And what is it that you want me to talk about?"

"Lauren! Please! Will you stop acting like you don't me!"

"Well then, would you stop this nonsenseness! Ethan, what do you expect from me! Do you still expect that I would be the girl who's head over heels with you way way back? NO! Because that girl died years ago! I'm a whole different kind of person, Ethan! And I will never ever love you!"

Pain and sadness was written all over his face. I could tell I just hurt his ego. He deserves more than this. This is not enough.

"I, I know. I know that Lauren. I just want you to hear me out." Tears slowly ran on his cheeks.

"Hear you out? After what, almost 9 years of being lost? After running away from me? Oh please Ethan! I had enough. You said on that note that you never loved me and you never will. That was enough to explain everything that happen."

I can't take this. This is too much. More of this and I might breakdown and cry non stop.

"Mr. Price, please leave my office immediately before I terminate your contract here as my intern."

Without another word he left my office.
