“Xavier what did you just say to me?” I looked over him waiting for his answer.
“I said that the Half Moon pack said they needed our help with the rouge problem
they are having Alpha.”
Half Moon pack? Why did that sound familiar? Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
The Half Moon pack was my old pack. The pack I left behind two years ago. The pack that made me who I am today and were the reason I changed how I was towards people.
“Alpha what do you want me to tell them?”
I turned and looked to Xavier. “Tell them that we will arrive there by the weekend.”
“Yes Alpha.” With that he left the room.
“Ari? Are you sure you want to do this?”
I turned towards the door and there stood Alex standing in the door way looking at me with a curious expression on his face.
“No, Alex I am most certainly not sure about this but I don’t want to be the pack everyone hears about that didn’t help them. I want to keep the reputation that we are the strongest and fasted pack out there.”
Alex took a few steps towards me and lifted me up and set me on his lap. He took my face between my hands.
“Ari you have always been the strongest out of all of us. I sometimes wonder where you have gotten all of this strength from.”
“I got stronger because of you being in my life since I showed up here.”
I thought back to the day that I had met Alex. I had just enrolled myself into Safe Haven High and Alex was the unlucky guy who got to show me around the first day of school. When he walked into the room I sniffed the air and new he was a rouge. I could smell it all over him, I remember seeing him sniff the air and his face widen in a smile. We became inseparable since then. We started the Dark Shadow pack and we were both white wolves with black and gray on us. Only I had a random orange spot on my throat.
“Hey earth to Aria!”
I looked at Alex who was looking at me. “Sorry I zoned out for a second there. Can you call the other members in here so we can have a pack meeting?”
“Sure can do baby girl.” He kissed me on the lips and walked out of the room to go get the other pack members.
You see Alex and I have one of those kind of relationships. We love each other but we know we aren’t eachothers mates. We know our day will come and we will be separated but right now we can make each other and fill that empty spot.
“What is this pack meeting about?”
I turned my chair around and looked at the pack members coming in the room. I knew that it was the twins asking me that question. They always were the ones to ask questions before they heard anything. Sitting in front of me was: Alex, Xavier, Lila, Sam, Rachel and the twins Emmalynn and Hunter.
“I’m going to be straight to the point. We have to move in with the Half Moon pack and help out with their rouge problem.”
“Aria isn’t that your old pack?” Lila was the one to speak up and ask the question.
“Yes it is. The only reason we are helping them is so we can maintain our reputation of being the fastest and strongest pack. We are going to prove them wrong about us. We leave tomorrow morning. Any questions?”
They all just looked at me. “No Alpha!”
“Lets prove them all wrong then.”
With that they left the room and went to pack. Alex lingered back for a minute.
“Are you okay Ari?”
“Yeah I’m just sort of nervous you know. I had only shifted two months before I left them. It wasn’t a good time for me.”
“I know it wasn’t love but you are different now. They won’t be able to recognize you at first. Prove them all wrong babe, show them what they are missing out on. They will be sorry they ever messed with you.”
I laughed at that. “Lets go for a run real quick and then start packing.
Alex grabbed my hands and we started walking out back. We both took our clothes off in silence and shifted. I stood on all four paws and stretched.
Oh how I missed this feeling.
It was my wolf talking now.
I know I’m sorry its been awhile Eve.
You bet it sure has. Now please let me take over for a bit.
Be my guest love.
Eve took over while she ran with Alex. I knew Alex’s wolf wouldn’t get that close to Eve. He had this like power to sense things from Eve and he knew it wasn’t me.
We ran for a hour or so and headed back to the house. We shifted back just as the twins came running out.
“Aria there is a man here to see you!”
I put my shirt on and looked up at them. “Who is it?”
“Your father.”
I looked at them and looked at Alex. We started walking towards the house.
He is in the living room. I knew it was the twins telling me through mind link.
“Leo its so great to see you.”
“I would like to speak with the Alpha of the pack young lady.”
He seriously didn’t know it was me. I felt Eve get mad for a couple minutes until I heard Alex’s voice in my head.
This is your dad?
Yeah it sure is. Shocking isn’t it?
I don’t like how he talked to you there.
Watch what I have to say.
“Well if you want the Alpha then you’re looking right at her!”
“You’re the Alpha?” The look on his face was priceless.
“What a girl can be Alpha too!”
“there is no way a girl is the Alpha of the pack. The strongest and fastest pack out there.”
“Daddy why is that so hard to believe?”
He instantly went pale.
“Aria? There is no way that’s you.”
I pulled the sleeve up on my shirt and showed him the tattoo of our family.
“Is it me now Leo?”
“What? How?”
“well you see, it all started when…. Forget that! Why are you here?”
“The pack needs your help. The rouge problem has gotten worse since we last contacted you. Are you able to leave tonight?”
“I think that can be arranged. Now run along and don’t! I mean don’t tell anyone who I am. Got it?”
“Yes Alpha.” He took off out of the house.
I turned and looked at Alex’s face.
“Aria that was great! Lets go pack.”
It took us a hour to pack and we were on our way to my old pack.
