CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
The Doctor was desperately rummaging through boxes and any storage space he could think of, it was very tricky to find things when the TARDIS was constantly prone to changing its interiors without warning.
“Doctor what exactly are we looking for again?” Ivana yelled out with growing impatience.
“A dimensional stabilizer…Well a partially dismantled dimensional stabilizer, I need to repair it so I can use it to make a gateway into another Universe…And I can’t remember where I put it!” The Doctor shouted back with growing frustration. “I really haven’t got time to build a new one…But with the time I spent looking for one I could have!”
“Yes but what does a dimensional stabilizer look like?!”
Ivana scowled and shouted back with equal frustration, recklessly emptying boxes out onto the glass flooring of the TARDIS central dais. Ivana glanced up at the swirling mass of the incomplete time key which hovered just above the TARDIS controls, in what the Doctor described as a temporal state of grace, she tried not to let it freak her out. She simply began muttering to herself and marvelled at how one day could change so rapidly from being hired to kill a man she very much wanted to see dead she was now working with the Doctor to save all of time and the Universe, as days went it was a pretty mad and also unexpected one.
“I’m supposed to be a deadly assassin and this is what I’m reduced to…Searching through junk with a crazy man…In his blue box that travels through time and space and is bigger on the inside…” Ivana’s voice trailed away, she smiled wryly to herself as she took in her surroundings, realising where she was and the possibilities of what this could mean in the future (of course if there was one)…That’s if she didn’t kill the Doctor first for being so annoying…
“No, this is simply impossible!” There was a loud crashing noise accompanied by. “Goodness gracious what did I want to do that for?” As piles of boxes came tumbling down upon the Doctor’s head.
“Doctor are you okay?” Ivana ran down the steps into one of the alcoves joined to the control room to find the Doctor on his backside rubbing his forehead. Ivana clambered over all the bizarre items and raised an eyebrow at the weapon as she picked up a rusty sword.
“It belongs to a King, a once great and future king. Just looking after it for them...” The Doctor explained brusquely. Ivana held up a bow and arrow. “Robin and his merry men. It was a gift.” The Doctor snatched it from her grasp, starting to get very touchy about his collection of weapons.
Ivana searched for a bit longer then spotting a gun she picked it up and twirled it in her hands, smiling teasingly. “A squareness gun…For someone so against violence you carry an eclectic range of weapons on board your ship Doctor…”
“It doesn’t belong to me it was left behind.” The Doctor grumpily retorted.
“Then you won’t mind if I borrow it, it might come in handy.” Ivana smiled at the highly sought weapon and quickly pocketed the gun. But then she took a sharp intake of breath, shaking her head at all the stuff, odd memorabilia from the Doctor’s years of travels and then began to chastise him like they were an old married couple. “Do you never throw anything away…Men you’re all the same.”
“Actually you know…I think I preferred it when you were trying to kill me…” The Doctor sighed in an aggrieved tone, crawling over his belongings, frowning as he surveyed the chaos. “Oh where did I put it? It was one of my finest pieces of work if I might say so myself…”
