'Believing in the supernatural was one thing I can't seem to do because of the made up stories, or videos by people who fake everything. They make it harder to believe in something so common. They make movies, write books about what ifs, and how things happen. They don't give you the cold hard truth. Vampires aren't real.' I sit up from my desk, and see that everyone had left. I see the teacher grading papers, he looks up and smiles at me.
"That's the third time this week, Ms.Ross. Are you getting enough sleep at home?" He asks seeming a bit worried. I nod my head. "Well okay. How about you get on home. Your mom is probably waiting for you." I nod again before gathering my stuff and exiting the class. I look around, and most everyone was gone. Like most days I would see a few people hanging out by their lockers talking about nonsensical things like monsters. And of course their main monster would be..
"..vampires are extremely strong when it comes to protecting the ones they love." I roll my eyes. "And they become more powerful when they are attacked." I sigh and walk over to my locker. I open it, and if was filled with trash. I looked down, and started to pick it up. I could hear giggling from beside me, but I paid them no mind. After I finished I grabbed my things and shut the door. I turned and saw a piece of paper crumbled so I reached for it, and when I opened it, familiar words were written across it.
"Freak." I say quietly to myself. It was a reminder that everyday I am not like everyone else. I mean I am human, but I don't act like it most of the time. I clenched the paper in my hands before throwing it away. I walk to the nearby exit, and just stand there feeling watched. Not in a creepy way, but in a protective way. I shook away the thought and walked outside. The wind was blowing, and the trees swayed swiftly with it. I slowly took steps to the end of the school curb. I continued walking until I made it to the corner of my block. I walk to where I lived. On the mail box, written in permanent marker it said Ross. My first name was Anna. I had lived here as long as I could remember. I slowly opened the gate, and it creaks eerily as I shut it. I make my way to the front door and slowly open it. I saw the clothes that weren't washed in a pile on the floor, and the dishes I was suppose to wash still sitting in the same exact spot. I sigh as I set my bag down. Then I feel something rubbing against my leg. I look down to see Core welcoming me home as he purred. I give him a gently smile, and pick him up. I petted him for a few seconds before putting him down and rolling up my sleeves then got to my chores.
I wiped the sweat from my forehead, and sigh. I had finished a weeks worth of laundry, and dishes, and now that the week was almost over, I needed to study for my mythology final, but of course it contained things I could care less about. Like monsters, and etc. Of course our teacher was a completely lunatic- I mean expert on all things mythical and supernatural, which also meant vampires. I grab my bag, and open it to find the crumbled note I had found earlier, and I tossed it-'wait I threw that away earlier' I picked it up again, and flattened it out. When I looked at it the word Freak was crossed out, and underneath it it said, I am watching you, always. I roll my eyes. For the past couple of days after an incident I have been receiving these notes that are saying things like this. Its strange because I don't feel creeped out about it. Now the incident wasn't my fault, but some would like to say it was all my fault.
Flashback to two days ago
I was walking to class when I tripped, and bumped into someone, and of course it was the most plastic person in the world, my nemesis, Madison Hell- Hanklef, stupid last name, i know. Anyway. She turns and smiles, as soon as she saw it was me her face dropped. We start growling at each other, when the most known, "popular" guy in school, Ryan Paxton, comes up, and apologizes to both of us. Madison went straight to her fake self, and I was beyond confused. He gives her his signature smile, and walks away.
