You & I

Chapter4:

Amelia's POV:

Ally and I saw James right away as we got inside the school. He ran over to us and said, "I'm sorry I couldn't make it, coach needed us right away." I smiled at him and said, "Don't be sorry. It's fine." Ally kind of just stood there and nodded her head. I said, "We better get to class, we only have one more day until break!" They both nodded and started walking towards their lockers. James, on the other hand, already had his books and went to go meet up with his other football friends. Ally and I got our books and went to the last 3 classes of the day.

2:30pm, school ends:

I get in my car and wave Ally and James goodbye. I put my purse in the passanger's seat and buckled myself in. As I pull out of the school parking lot, I see them walking and I beep at them. They looked startled and I just laughed and waved again.

2 days later...: break begins. 

I wake up to Pluto wagging his tail and running to greet me as I wake up. I picked him up and kissed him on his little head, still laying down. I realized I had work, 10:45am and I don't start work until 1:00.. great.

!2:30pm

I put on my blue and yellow working shirt, with a pair of blue jeans. I went to my nightstand to get my name tag and put my hair in a ponytail, did my makeup, and went back downstairs to get the keys, purse and jacket. I went into the kitchen and got the box full of poptarts out and grabbed a strawberry flavored poptart. I didn't really care so I just ate them the way that they were, not toasted or anything. I looked at my watch realizing it was already 12:50pm. I grabbed my poptart, keys, jacket, and purse. I yelled "Goodbye" to my dad, forgetting I didn't greet him at all and ran out of the house.

As I got into the car I finished my poptart and started the engine. I pull out of the car as my phone vibrates. I ignore it and continue driving. As I pull into the car parking lot, I unlock my phone. I saw the time again, reading 12:59pm on the dot. I get out of the car, grab my things, and dash out of the car, into the coffee shop. I see the notifications and lock my phone. I go to the register at Sip This and began to work.

Costumers came, went, and stayed for a bit. But, this dude from CVS comes in. I casually stand there and he walks up to me. He starts to talk, and I literally zoned out. His heavy British accent is amazing and his leather jacket is so.. Stop Amelia. I asked him to repeat his order because I...I didn't understand because I was... zoned out, you can say.

But, I don't want to know him.. No Amelia get over it. He repeats his order, "Salted caramel mocha latte, one vanilla pump and two sugars." I half smile and get his order. I come back and hand him the coffee. He asks, "Have I seen you before, CVS?" I, being embarrassed said, "Uh, yes..yes, that was me. Sorry for my attitude.. I am not good at meeting new people, you can say.." CVS guy replies saying, "No problem. I'm Liam" I smile as I say, "Amelia." then mumbles, "Amelia Hastings" without Liam hearing her last name.

Liam said, "Beautiful name, Amelia" I smile as I say, "Thanks." I don't want to be friends with that tattooed, British, dimple boy.. But I..I don't know. Amelia thought as Liam gives her the money for his coffee, Amelia takes the money and gives him the change. Liam took the change and put it in the 'tips bucket' then smiled and walked out of the store.

I was so amazed, he doesn't seem like a bad person. I've already seen him twice this week, seems like no coincidence to me. 

As all of these questions ran through Amelia's mind, she stopped and smiled. She continued working.

4 hours later: 5:00pm

After my shift had ended, I drove home. I walk in and run to my room and texted Ally to stop over. Of course Ally came five minutes later because she lives around the block on William's Street.

Ally knocked and glanced over at the boy a few houses down who she had never seen before. I opened the door. She looked startled so I said, "Sorry to startle you! Come in." Ally asks, "Have you seen that guy around?" she asks and she turns her head to who she was looking at. I glance over and say, "Maybe... just come in." Ally 'Ooo's' at me and runs in. She yelled, "HI MR, HASTINGS!" and I meant to tell her that he was at work. After I told her, she awkwardly said, "Oopsie" and smiles. I stare at her trying I be serious but I laughed.
