Caleb.
Today seemed kind of odd. Off, I should say. The air gave me a damp breeze. And the clouds...well it's pretty chill. I couldn't give any fucks about what I wore to school today.
"MATTHEW, HURRY UP!!" I yell from the outside of our house. He takes his precious time every morning like I don't have anywhere else to be.
"Don't rush me, dick" He says coming out with some type of croissant he made earlier this morning.
"I do what I want! You know how Rachel feels about me being late."
"Yeah, and she knows how I feel about looking good." he says while brushing his thick brown hair back with his fingers.
"Psh, as if, I'm like; totally way hotter than you," I say giving a feminine hand gesture.
"Caleb, come on," Matthew says amused at my stupidity.
Around five minutes later we arrive at Rachel's house. I pull out my phone to call her; it rings...but I get no answer. I texted her three times, and still no fucking answer.
"Mathew, I'll be right back. Rachel isn't responding to any of my calls or messages. I'm going to see what's going on."
"Okay, I'll be here... finishing my croissant."
I just look at em' and then rushed to Rachel's doorstep; ringing the door bell.
Her mother opened the door, probably already assuming it was me.
"Good morning Mrs..."
"She walked to school."
"Rachel? Our Rachel walked to school?"
"Yes, MY Rachel did. Something's up with her if you did anything to hurt my daughter...I swear I'll--"
"Look, Mrs.Thomas...if I hurt her, then why would I be here asking for her right now?"
"Caleb, just go...you'll find her at school." I look into her eyes, and all she gave me was hatred.
With that, I jogged to my car without saying goodbye...I just wanted to know what's going on with my girlfriend.
I get back into the driver's seat finding Matthew playing something on his phone.
"What did she say?" He said not looking up from his device.
"She thinks I did something to her."
"You did do something to her..." Matthews' voice trailed off.
"Yes, I know I bit her...but...wait how do you know that?"
"Can we just get to school already? We're already ten minutes late."
"Yeah, whatever." A sigh came from my mouth, I felt like punching something. I shook it off and began driving to that hell hole, they call school.
I parked in my normal parking spot, something was really off about school today...I mean Rachel isn't talking to me, the breeze in the air gives me a really bad vibe, Rachel's mom hates me. I mean shit, what else can go wrong?
Around three-hundred students crowded around the front entrance of the school. I look past the yelling teenagers, trying to see what the hell is happening.
"Somethings not right," Matthew says with confusion in his voice.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to go find Rachel," I say getting out the car shutting the door.
I ran straight towards the school building before I even got to the door, it's like a spell or something was over the school. I literally bounced back from the building; falling on my ass. I went to try it again, and the same thing happened! I look at the students that were all around me, knowing that the same thing happened to them.
Running into the crowd, I was looking for Rachel. I spotted her standing next to Jordan, her brother. Jordan had his arm crossed with sass and irritation. Rachel was quite.
"Rachel, baby I've been looking all over for you, I tried calling you, texting you, and I even went to your front door step. Whats wrong with you? Why haven't you been talking to me?"
Rachel didn't even look at me, "Rachel! You hear me talking to you!" I raise my voice, the loudest I could. She looks at me kind of teary-eyed. Before another word made it out of my mouth, I got interrupted.
"Good morning students, I know what you're thinking. Today is a very important day. But, I'm going to start it off with the question everyone is wondering...'Why can't I get inside the school' well... I got some news for you," Says vice principal Grimly.
"See, well every one of you couldn't get in the school...it because; you're part of our supernatural group. So, this will no longer be your school anymore. You will now be attending. Night-fore, Home of the supernatural. Night-fore has been around for many centuries and counting. There are over two-thousand students attending. And now three hundred more. This will be one of the best experiences of your lifetime. Look around to see who's been hiding who and what they are."
I look around and so many familiar and unfamiliar faces. I've seen faces that I've never thought I'd see before. Jocks and cheerleaders. Shy guys, and the weird anti-social.
The popular and the geeks. And then Rachel. She caught my eye again. She glances at Christian with her eyes furrowed. Christian looks at her with a smirk. Somethings not right.
"Wow, who would've thought. Our little Rachel Is a part of this supernatural group. She's one of us." Christian says almost like a whisper from behind me. I look at her; then back at Rachel.
"Uh...yeah. What's going with her by the way? She hasn't been talking to me."
"Me either," Christian says blowing out a sigh.
"But, hey. Maybe she's going through something at home, and you know maybe doesn't want to talk about it."
"You stayed at her house this past weekend. So you should know."
"I left Friday night. I just wasn't really feeling too well. I wanted to go home!"
"You know what Christian. There are always something going on with you. You're always trying ruin things. Just because you can't have me doesn't mean..." I felt anger and regret brimming inside of me. Rachel watched us from the corner of her eye.
"Okay students, We will pick up everything tomorrow. You have the rest of the day off."
