The day continued on, the time ticking past at a rate Vienna considered resembled a snail, the minutes felt like hours but each of those lengthy minutes, Vienna slowly came out of her shell as she and Bianca spoke more, she had learnt that Bianca was happily dating the 'man of her dreams' named Mason, they had been dating for five months and met in primary school and Bianca lived with her mom and her older brother. She had also learnt that their home class teacher was called Ms. Johnson.
Refocusing on the algebra on the board, and the forty odd year teacher who was explaining the work. Scribbling down the examples, Vienna heard her phone ping, quickly snatching it up off the table to see a text message from her childhood friend from her old town, Willow. A smile spread across her face as she replied, and nothing brought more joy than speaking to her good friend that she hadn't seen for weeks. Willow was on a vacation when Vienna had to move, but the two kept in touch and refused to stray apart, despite the distance.
Putting back down her phone, she smiled shyly at the teacher who sighed and shook her head, shrugging it off, probably because she was the new student. Vienna continued with her work, noticing that Bianca was looking at her with an arched brow when she put down her phone, her gaze questioning. Vienna merely shrugged, Bianca had to sit with another girl who had wavy chocolate brown hair with a blonde streak at the front, and beautiful blue eyes.
Vienna sighed as she looked back at her work, returning to the equations that the teacher just put up on the board. "Vienna?" The voice of the teacher resonated around the room, causing the students to look up, their eyes greedy for drama between their teacher and the new student. "Yes, Mr. Harrison?" She asked politely, glancing up at him with those brown eyes, doe-like in shape. "Can you please put your phone in your bag and Miss Morwen, please stop distracting Miss Censon." He ordered, his tone firm and strict. It seems he truly didn't let her off easy.
Sliding her phone into her bag, she continued working on the equations, listening to the teacher ramble, the clicks of pens and the clock ticking. Keep it together, Vienna. Don't break down. She chanted to herself, twiddling her pen and her left leg bouncing and shaking as she tried to keep it together, to keep calm. She could feel eyes turn to her, studying her, and she hated every second of it, every glance that traced over her body. It messed with her, badly and it wasn't something she could control. When she was ten, her doctor diagnosed her as depressed and suffered from anxiety, a combination that was in constant confliction. Within her was a constant war between the two but the anxiety was her worst as she couldn't go up and order food, she couldn't talk to someone over the phone, she couldn't even speak to people without wanting to run and hide.
The familiar call of the bell signaled the end of lesson, and that recess had began. Collecting her work equipment, she piled it all into her bag, collecting her phone out of the side pocket and zipping it up, slinging it onto her back as she stood. Checking her outfit, due to her crippling self consciousness and insecurity, she glanced up to see Bianca walking toward her with the girl she was with. "Kelsey, this is Vienna." Bianca quickly introduced the two, a beaming smile on her face. "Hey..." Vienna offered a shy smile, holding onto her shirt with her left arm, wrapping it across her stomach. "Hi, pleasure to meet you, Vienna!" The brown haired girl, Kelsey returned, a small smile on her features. Kelsey looked like one of those girls who were insanely beautiful, but wouldn't give you a second glance, her features were strong and her eyes were tough, almost always seeking out a threat.
"Move along, girls. You can't stay in here." Mr. Harrison spoke up, causing the three girls to scurry out of the room with their bags on their backs and small laughter filling the area as they exited into the hallway. Walking in a line, Kelsey and Bianca remained speaking as Vienna's chocolate orbs flicked around her, never straying from the two girls but she couldn't bring herself to chip in with conversation. These two were probably the only familiar faces, and she wasn't planning to try and search for somewhere to sit alone.
"So, Vienna, which school did you transition from?" Kelsey pulled her into the conversation, her eyes focusing on the almost timid girl to the right of Bianca. "I came from Galewood High in the town of the same name." Vienna explained, chewing on her lip as she almost ran into a guy as he walked in the opposite direction. The hallway was crowded as the students filed out of their designated classrooms. "Oh that's cool! My cousin lives there." Kelsey grinned before she stepped forward to open the door, and the three of them walked out into the courtyard.
Students stood in their specific social groups, ranging from two to three friends in some groups or a large group of almost seven chatting among themselves in loud voices. Vienna was curious to see that boys and girls mingled in groups, instead of having separate circles. In her old school the girls and boys wanted nothing to do with each other, they just stuck with their own gender. Fascinated, Vienna followed Kelsey and Bianca toward a table, the former sat on top of the table while the later sat on the bench, where Vienna herself sat also.
"So, where are you from, Kelsey?" Vienna asked, actually curious to learn more about this confident yet nice girl, who made Vienna feel like a shadow in comparison to her beauty. Kelsey honestly didn't need the light layer of makeup that was on her almost clean face, that had next to no pores. "I've been here my whole life, never moved. Went to Heatherdell Primary then graduated and came here." Kelsey shrugged, before her gaze turned cold as two guys walked toward them, one a muscled guy with short brown hair, blue eyes and a cheeky grin, the other more lean and tall with longer and darker brown hair, green eyes and a light smile. The tall one walked right up to Bianca, who giggled and got up to hug him, so Vienna presumed that was Bianca's mystery man, Mason. The other's grin turned into a smirk as he noticed Kelsey's death glare.
"Hey, Arden, going to introduce me to your friend?" He asked, his gaze turning onto Vienna who instantly looked away, her cheeks flaring in embarrassment. "No I am not, Garrison. Move along." Kelsey bit back, huffing and looking away. Vienna glanced toward her new friend, a frown of concern on her features noticing the distress and anger portrayed on Kelsey's face. His name sounded familiar, and she remembered that she heard a few students had mention a James Garrison was holding a party this weekend. "Oh come on Kel, I told you I was sorry." James huffed, crossing his arms. "Well, sorry doesn't cut it."
Bianca stopped her catch up with Mason to sharply look at James. "It's time for you to leave." She spoke firmly, and Mason wrapped his arm around her waist, almost protectively as he glanced at his friend. "Seriously, Bianca? Whatever. See you around new girl." He turned and walked off, heading toward a group of guys and a few girls who watched him return to their ranks. Vienna knew that something was going on between the two, probably a hard break up that left Kelsey bitter, but she wasn't going to mention it without the facts first. Glancing down at her phone, she checked the time and nibbled on her food.
Two chapters in one day? I'm on a roll. Photograph above is of the beautiful Bianca. Please note that these characters are in their teen years, so I'm not going to have pictures of twenty odd year celebrities and dub them as my character's reference. You may see them how you like of course, but that is just something to reference your imagination off of.
If there is any mistakes please mention them, but there is no need to bark over a spelling mistake, just be civil please. Anyway, enough of my odd ramblings. I will try to post these weekly, I would say daily but my life is hectic as it is so I can't confirm that. Thank you for reading this crap! :)
