We were running around outside.
We were young, still about maybe 10, I don't know.
Rachel had just found something, and I wanted to see.
"Rachel!" I said. "Let me see!"
"Finders keepers," she answered, "and I found it."
"Let me see!" I shouted again, still running after her.
Finally, she stopped. She was crouched in the greenhouse, and she finally let me see what she found.
It was an arrowhead.
Suddenly, I grabbed from her hand and took off running, hollering, "Finders keepers!"
"Hey!" She got up and chased after me.
I kept running. Suddenly, something fell underneath me.
I fell, ending up in an old well. I saw something in he darkness, but i couldn't quite make it out.
I heard Rachel running towards the mansion to get someone to help me.
Then, I began to hear squeaks. What I saw, whatever it was, came towards me.
It was a bunch of bats. They swarmed me, I was terrified, having no idea what to do.
After what felt like hours, my dad, Thomas Wayne, finally came down to get me.
"Why do we fall, Bruce?" he had asked me when we got out. "So we can learn to pick ourselves back up," he finished.
He was carrying me back to the Manor. I saw Rachel and her mom standing there, so I Rachel my hand out and handed her back the arrowhead.
"You took quite a tumble, didn't you Master Bruce?" Alfred, out butler, said, joining us.
     Then tragedy struck.
We were at an opera, and the way the people were dancing reminded me of the bats from the well.
"Dad," I said, tugging on his shirt. "Can we go?"
After a little while, he responded, "Yeah," and we left out the back door.
"What's wrong, Bruce?" my mother, Martha, asked me.
Thankfully, my father answered for me.
"Oh," he started. "I just needed some fresh air, that's all."
As he said that, he looked at me.
While we were walking, this man came up to is with a gun, asking for our money and jewelry. Father tried to calm him down, but still handed it to him.
"I said jewelry!" the man yelled, and shot Father.
     Mother screamed. I was terrified.
He grabbed Mother's pearl necklace from her neck and shot her, too.
He looked at me, and o was terrified.
He didn't shoot me. Instead, he took off running.
The police were soon there, and I was taken to the office, soon back to my home.
     Years later, I ran away.
I found this place called the League of Shadows. I trained there for 7 years with a man named Ra's al Ghūl.
After watching him die, and saving my friend, I returned home to Gotham.
And soon, I became the new face of fear in Gotham.
     "I'm Batman."
