As much as I didn't want to be here, I was stuck. This wasn't home, home wasn't here despite what anyone had to say. It was an excruciating 2 plain rides and an over night drive away.

I hated the agrestic feel of this town, the brown lawns, the musty salt smell from the bay, hell- even the flickering streetlights drove me crazy.

I had only been in Vana Bay for 5 minutes and already I was missing modern living with my dad back in New York. Nice Wednesday breakfasts, Sunday morning shopping, and Friday night high end partying.

It was a complete contrast from 'this place,' at least back home in New York, I could pretend I was an only child and for the most part I had everyone believe I so.

I was the youngest of 1 and the oldest of 2.

And ... I absolutely hated every single one of them.

But by the looks of it, as I stood in the doorway of "Janis's" fair sized home, they didn't like me much either.

Janis is My mom. In a nutshell she absconded like 12...13 years ago, I don't know I stopped counting. Her and my father "parted" they could never really get a divorce because of the fact that they never married, but in the span of time that they had been together, Janis popped out 4 children and left my father with 1 - Me. I never knew her to well, we never wrote or called and that goes for my siblings as well. It wasn't just the fact that we had simply stop talking because of the distance and 'typical' split parents thing- it's also for the fact that she's always throwing around her animadversion at anyone and everyone and it makes her less affable in my book, whereas my father fell in love with her for it.

My siblings. Their all boys, messy, loud, obnoxious, jerk face boys.

I wave vaguely as I stand stiff in my spot of the doorway, "well, Damn. help her with her bags." Janis says, playfully hitting the back of "Scott's" head.

He's the oldest ... And by 10

Months, may I add.

He shoo's her hand away before running his fingers through the thick locks that say on top of his head, he comes for the suit case in my hand and takes it without a word.

"you two, go ahead." Janis now says to the two youngest, "Mac and Max." They looked alike in every way possible with no distinction on which was which.

They come for the carrier bags that had been hanging from the bends of my elbows and on my shoulders, they take them with a struggle but follow behind Scott, lugging them against the wood floor.

I so badly wanted to tell them to 'Pick up my Designer luggage. That it's never to be drug across anything,' but I didn't want to start this 'visit' off on a bad foot.

So I watched closed mouthed as they destroyed my designer.

I walk fully into the "vintage" looking home, only two more bags were left with me and Janis took one from
