In the morning I was covered in an avalanche of blankets when Janis knocks on my door, "huh?" I mumble out under the covers. I can hear the door open and soon she's sitting on the edge of my bed, I peek my head out to make eye contact with her. She's shoving her feet into black kitten heels and has her hair and makeup done unlike her usual attire for the weekends. "I'm off to work. Why don't you get up.. And -- do something today." She suggests, going to the mirror that hung on the back of the closet door and applying a croaky neutral lipstick to her already dull lips.
She answered phones for a living, i guess it really didn't matter what color lip stick she wore.
"Do something like what, this town is made up of trees and grass." I mumble, rolling around in the bed.
"Climb some trees then. Do something." She says sarcastically before going for my door, "what ever you decide to do tonight, I left money in the popsicle box downstairs incase of an emergency.
I look at her lazily, sleep still numbing my body.
"I don't get off until 2 in the morning. You- ah.. You can call me anything .. Goes wrong," she nods, "something usually goes wrong." She huffs out, before throwing my a smile and disappearing out into the hallway.
When I finally get up and make an effort to get dressed, I trudge for the bathroom that was next door to my room- somehow someone always beats me to it.
I knock once, "hold on." One of the twins chime out. I folded my arms and held my tooth brush in my hand as my foot impatiently tabs against the wood of the floor.
"Theirs a Bathroom in Scott's room, Emerson!" A twin says, from behind me, catching me off guard and making me jump.
"Which one are you.." I ask.
"Mac." He says, holding you cars in his hands.
"Why does Scott get his own bathroom?" I ask. "Iv been asking the same questions for 7 years, sister." He says smartly before running off down the steps.
More importantly, if Scott has his own bathroom, then why didn't Carter use it last night, instead of coming to the one out in the hall. . .
Hmm.
"How long are you going to be, Max?" I say, knocking lightly. "Rushing me isn't going to make me go any faster." He shoots out. I make a face before making way across the hall and over to Scott's cracked door.
I knock, "Scott?" I say, knocking.
No answer, the door opens a little wider, giving me full view into the 'man cave' that was Scott's. It was a mess in here and smelled strongly of pizza and men's cologne.
"Scott?" I say, "Scott's down stairs." Says a half naked Carter, who walked from out of the bathroom that was inserted in Scott's room.
A towel wrapped around his waist and beads of Water still collected on his visible chiseled chest.
I open and close my mouth, caught off guard for the second time today, I look away momentarily.
"Uh-uhm. Ok." I say turning for be door, "you need to use the bathroom?" He asks, knowingly.
"I- I can hold it, it's fine." I wave him off as I turn fully for the door. "You've been holding it since last night.. And I'm pretty sure you wanna brush your teeth." He says, making my stop in my tracks.
