Envy

There was a man who had everything; riches beyond belief, a loving wife and many children he loved dearly, loyal friends who stood by him even in the darkest of times. He was humble though. He did not boast about his riches. He did not take advantage of his friends. He did not brag about his perfect family...too much.

This man's name was Argus.

Phthonus, the god of jealousy and envy, looked down upon Argus in hatred. He wished he could have a family, riches and loyal friends just as Argus did. After years of watching Argus, he was not able to subdue his jealousy any longer, so he took Argus's family and friends and put them in the sky so that every night, Argus would look up and see what he couldn't have. He left Argus with nothing but his riches, which did not satisfy his grief.

To this day, Argus's family still travels through the sky, trying to find some way to get back down to earth to be with him.

Envy had nothing, so he killed a man with everything.
