Regina lifted her leg up as quick as quick, right into the mans groin. He gasped in pain and fell back, kneeling over in distress.
Now was her chance.
She dashed by him and out of the room. Like a rocket, like a racehorse, like a Olympic sprinter.
Only backfire was, that, she didn't know this house. She didn't know it's crooks and hiding spaces, it's exits or openings.
But she didn't care. She would not stop running. Not for the life of her.
Regina charged down a hall, and turned left into a longer hall with doors on each side. There were no windows, so that didn't help.
Not realizing she was wasting time, and that she was just staring around dumbfounded and not running, she felt her heart leap when she heard his footsteps running after her.
As quickly as her mind let her, she sprinted off again into a room on her right, and shut the door.
No lock, of course.
She grabbed a few things and stacked them before the door, blocking it from letting him in if he even figured out the room she was in, and/or where she had went.
Silent, she slowly stepped back and climbed under the bed, laying against her chest to the cool floor.
There was no noise outside of the door.
Maybe she had lost him.
Maybe he gave up.
Or maybe he was...
She gasped as something grabbed her by her leg under the bed and dragged her out and under from it, pinning her against the floor with strong arms.
Shit.
She stared into those same green eyes.
Again.
She tried and pushed against him, falling back into the floor, knowing she wasn't getting away.
Yet.
She still had a few tricks up her sleeve.
The man, with his gorgeous green eyes, smirked at her.
"Trying to get away." He said with a small chuckle. "You are going to be a stubborn one." His voice was smooth, sharp, and raspy, all at the same time.
And that combination made him sound so sexy.
She tried not to blush and smiled back up at him, playing along.
"Stupid to try me out. I may be small, but I'm clever." She murmured.
His hands along her wrist were so warm.
She secretly loved it.
"Well isn't that too bad." He said softly, searching her body with his eyes.
Who was he?
"Now, I think it's time to go home now. I've had enough of the game tag." She said clenching her hands into fists.
Was Jasper okay?
Why was she here?
What was the point?
"I'm afraid that won't work." He said "There's a reason you're here."
"What the hell are you talking about?" She asked. She was so, so, confused.
She was just visiting with Jasper. She did nothing wrong.
"Well, you know that wolf that bite you?" He asked.
He didn't give her a chance to reply, to answer.
"That was me. And now you're part wolf. And now you're my mate."
Those twelve words made her blood freeze, made her skin a ghostly white, and made her stomach churn.
