I stared dumbly at the sight in front of me. 'So it wasn't a dream' I thought. I went to speak but got cut of by Violet
"Charlie are you okay?"She exclaimed, dropping down from the window sill and checking me all over.
"God Charlie you're bleeding!" She said with worry. I looked down at my hand and saw that the glass that was once my picture frame, had cut the back of my hand, quite badly too.
"Oh, so I am" I said calmly, trying to act strong in front of her. She delicately held my bloody hand, blushing as she mdid so, as her hands began to glow and the pain started to leave my body, I looked down at my hand and saw it enveloped in a white glow. The glowing stopped and my hand had stopped bleeding, the trails that the blood had left leaving my hand had left a bloody stain.
"Please try rest now, we got school in the morning"
She leaned over and kissed my cheek, then climbed out of the window and vanished.
I drearily woke up, and slowly gazed over at my clock. My eyes focused and I read the time...9:00
I had to be at school for 9:05..
"I'm gonna be so late!" I thought to myself, pulling on my trousers and and dashing down the stairs, pulling on my shirt and sprinting out of the gate, my school bag flailing behind me.I ran through the school gates and ran down the corridor, bursting through my classroom door. All eyes turned to me, the half dressed, panting mess that had just collapsed against the wall.
"Late again so it seems Mr Williams" said Miss Jackson, with no emotion."Sorry miss, my alarm didn't go off and no one at home woke me up... I missed the bus and had to run here." I stopped to catch my breath, awaiting her response.
She sighed and looked me coldly in the eyes, "this is the forth time this term Williams, I can't keep letting you off, my office after school"
I sighed and walked to the back of the classroom and sat in my seat. The boy next to me looked over from his jacket and scoffed when he made eye contact with me. I sank back into my seat, replaying what had happened the last couple of nights.
Hours passed, so did lessons; Registration. Maths. Science. English. Geography. Design.
Finally it was the end of the day... well for everyone else at least. I made my way to Miss Jacksons office, took a deep breath and knocked on the dark ebony door. The door seemed to open on contact with a painful creak. I peeked into the room. It was dark. The main light source coming from a small crack in the ceiling. I followed the light beam into the room and saw Miss Jackson asleep at her desk. I help back a laugh and turned to sneak away when I heard quick tiny footsteps run past me. I turned back and saw another dark figure, like the one from my room just smaller, around the size of a toddler. It held something in its tiny hand and plunged it towards Miss Jacksons sleeping face. I grabbed a book off the shelf and threw it at the shadow, which stepped back and seemed to stare at me with eyes I couldn't see. It took one step and lunged at me, I stepped back and tripped over Miss Jacksons coat that she left on the floor. I put my hands up to try stop the shadow, and closed my eyes preparing for the worst. I felt a tingling sensation in the palm of my left hand, and opened my eyes just in time to see a flash of red, orange and yellow engulf the shadow, and turn it into a pile of white ash.
My vision went blurry and I lost strength in the arm propping me up. I fell back and looked up at the ceiling. Just before my vision plunged into darkness a flash of white appeared at my side, and I saw Violet staring down at me."Charlie?!"
