"So.. when do you think I'll be able to see mum again?" I asked Violet, after she'd explained everything that I had asked.
"Your mother did actually give me a time which is acceptable for me to return by, just to check back in. I guess I could take you along with me?"
"Violet please bring me with you!"
She nodded and said "okay then, we'll leave tomorrow at dusk"
I grinned stupidly and hugged her. Then went a dark shade of red and backed away.
"It's getting kind of late isn't it? We should head home." I said awkwardly.
"Yes I think we should... Wait we should?!" Violet asked, desperately attempting to hide her embarrassment.
"Well yeah.. What if another of the afflicted try to attack me tonight.. You know if you haven't got a problem with that?" I asked, oblivious to what it seemed like I was asking.
"Oh of course.. I have no problem with that, let's go!"
Hours passed. Me and Violet had discussed and decided on temporary living arrangements, she was to sleep in my bed, and I in the camping bed on the floor.
"So I guess see you in a couple of hours then." I said awkwardly, adding my signature stupid giggle at the end of it.
"Yes of course, goodnight Charlie" Violet said quickly,
"Goodnight Violet." I said, then yawned and closed my eyes, thinking to myself 'what have I been dragged into.'
When I awoke from my disturbed sleep I opened my eyes with a sharp shiver, and wind in my face. The only light I could see was a dark red back and purple glow in the distance, but apart from that - all around was pure darkness. I looked up and saw Violet, wearing what I assumed was her Raum clothing, and her dark skeletal wings beating behind her.
"Finally your awake!" Shouted Violet, her voice softened by the wind, "We should be entering Hell soon, which means we should see Azura, we will get you see your mother."
I looked up at her and gave her my signature goofy grin, and mouthed the words 'Thank You'.
We approached the light which turned out to be a portal, or a doorway, to Hell, at breakneck speed. As we passed through the portal, a wall of heat hit me directly, taking all the breath from my body. The sight before me was terrifying yet amazing. Ginormous obsidian buildings, 50 feet tall skeletal statues of Demon Kings and Queens.
Surrounding the fiery cobbled streets were rivers of hate and sin, and an ocean of pain and damnation."Look Charlie, over there!" Violet laughed pointing to the right of us. She seemed relieved to be back.
I looked to my right and saw a gigantic stone mansion, with a burning symbol above the entrance - half a moon and sun, the sun burning dark red and the moon bright blue.
"Violet, is this my mothers temple?" I asked still gazing down at the symbol.
"Yes, this is where we'll find your mother" she said, hastily landing and walking towards the entrance. She placed her hand on the wall to the right of the staircase leading to the front door, the symbol from the entrance appeared on her hand, then glowed briefly on the door, before sinking back into the ground.
"After you" Violet said, gesturing to the newly formed hole in the building.
I nervously stepped through the door way, audibly gasping in amazement at what I saw before me. The marble floor gleamed a dark yet blinding light, the chandelier held in place by invisible chains, suspended 20 feet above the symbol engraved into the floor below it. My eyes gazed up two floors to the balcony protruding out of the wall, and saw a woman. She had short silver hair, with a crown of black roses upon it. She had a white dress on which changes to black depending on the angle of which you were looking. She had deep red eyes which seemed to be staring back down into my soul. I looked to Violet and asked
"Who's that?"
I turned back to look at the woman, but she had vanished,
"Hey Violet, did you see where she went?" i said turning around, to see the woman standing next to Violet, smiling at me.
"Hello, my dear... it's been a while" She said, moving closer and hugging me. That same familiar smell hit me, the same smell that my mother used to have...
"Mum!!" I exclaimed hugging her back, "It is you.. right?"
"We've got so much catching up to do..." She said, a tear forming in her eye, "I've missed you so much dear"
