Fate

Large and dark and full of hate
Flanked with hazy fires
The space the holds the strings of fate
And ever does it tire.
Weighed down by all that weight
Of lives— a waiting pyre
Every choice is just a bait, and
Crossroads much more dire.
Souls flicking through tall gates,
Immortal, though they tire
Dying—family, friends and mates
An ever entangling wire.
And life glitters in shades of jade
While death shimmers sapphire:
Large and dark and full of hate
Flanked with hazy fires.
