As someone who had personally fought a constant battle against the mirrors in public bathrooms all over the western world, Dinah had come to appreciate the way her body looked in hotel room mirrors. The warm, dim lighting from lamps made her skin almost glow.
Or maybe that was just afterglow.
She looked away from her own face, down to the corner of the mirror where she could see Lauren stretched out on her stomach, half naked on the bed behind her. The other girl's chin was propped up on her hands, her eyes half lidded as she looked up and down Dinah's body, cheeks tinted pink.
Dinah couldn't help but smile, running a hand through her damp hair. Definitely afterglow.
After a moment, Lauren's gaze flickered up to meet Dinah's, and she smiled too, biting her lip.
Wrapping her arms around her bare torso, Dinah sighed. She loved it when Lauren did that. Or did anything, really.
Her hands on Dinah were like a revelation, and the excited way she told stories with wide eyes was more endearing than a basket of puppies. Even the way she breathed felt refreshing, the feeling of her heartbeat exhilarating against Dinah's skin.
"Dinah, I've been thinking," Lauren said, tongue poking out to wet her lips as she looked up at Dinah.
"Of course you have."
"You should probably stay here a couple more days."
Dinah blinked at Lauren, and Lauren blinked back, her nose scrunching up adorably as she grinned.
"What?" Lauren asked innocently.
"Lo, my ticket is for today."
"So what?"
"I'm going home," Dinah said, frowning slightly. "It's a plane ticket to a different country, I can't just..."
"Reschedule?" Lauren finished for her. "Yeah, you totally can. And then you could stay here with me."
"I can't," Dinah said after a moment.
"Just stay for the weekend," Lauren said, her lips shifting into the most adorable pout as she sat up. "I don't have the cash to get out of London till Monday when ticket prices go down, anyways. I have nowhere to be and nothing left I wanna see."
"Nothing?" Dinah raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing aside from you, beautiful," Lauren replied, tilting her head to the side flirtatiously.
"You've been seeing me nonstop for two days, babe," Dinah said with a laugh.
"And I'm not ready to stop seeing you," Lauren said matter of factly, sliding off of the bed and walking over to Dinah. She ran a hand through her hair, and one of the straps of the loose fitting white tank top she was wearing slid off her shoulder.
It had been four and a half days since Lauren had kissed Dinah, with no warning, on the sidewalk outside the small London venue where she'd performed on Sunday night. She'd never seen Lauren before that day, and she'd just barely met her when Lauren had grasped the front of her jacket and pulled her down.
A kiss seemed like an odd type of greeting, but Lauren had smelled like cinnamon and her dark lipstick had smeared so perfectly on Dinah's lips that she hadn't been able to get Lauren out of her head all night.
