This is the second method to get a shiny, it's complicated for me honestly but let me explain it.

To get the PokeRadar, you have to finish the main story, and go to Sycamore's Lab on the 2nd floor, the guy near the Poke Balls floating will give it to you.

First, stock up a lot of super repels, why? because if you don't, if you encounter a Pokemon randomly, you'll most likely break your chain. Find a big patch of grass. The grass must not have holes in it and it has to be pretty big. Register the PokeRadar to the Y button before you start and unregister everything else that you have registered. Do not use your Roller Skates during the process, it'll most likely break your chain. Activate your repel, step into the grass and activate the Radar. You can see some grass rustling. If the music stops suddenly, you broke your chain. YOU MUST DEFEAT EVERY POKEMON THAT YOU'RE ENCOUNTERING DURING THE PROCESS, RUNNING AWAY WILL BREAK YOUR CHAIN. The goal is to find the same species of Pokemon over and over again in a row, until one of the patches starts shining. Once you see a grass shining, go over there right away. Once the battle ends you will see more patches of grass rustling, you need to be careful about what shaking grass you walk into.

If you go to the patches that are on the edge, you'll break your chain.

If you go to patches shaking next to each other, you'll break your chain.

If you go to any patch within 4 squares of view, you'll break your chain.

If you run into any grass that are not shaking fast enough, you'll break your chain.

If your Pokemon tries to evolves or if you have an Egg that's hatching, it'll break your chain.

And sometimes the chain will end for no reason.

However, if you encounter the bird Pokemon (zapdos, moltres or articuno, depending on the starter you choose) these  will not break your chain.

Sometimes some of the patches will not be usable, what should you do?

get out of the grass and walk fifty steps, then do it again, that will not break your chain. Then walk back in and use it again. That's called reseting.

If you get an encounter of 40, you'll most likely get a shiny. Just continue to do the process until one of the grasses starts shining.
