I struggle to turn my alarm off and roll out of bed barely opening my eyes. It's the second day of school and I'm already ready to go join the circus freaks. I grab some random clothes and shuffle to the shower. Once the water hits me I'm instantly awake and relaxed. Once I get out of the shower I look at the clothes I grabbed and realise that today I was going to look horrible. I put on my black sweatpants and white t-shirt and my white Adidas shoes. I dry my hair and decided to leave it natural, I don't put on any makeup because what's the point honestly. I grab my bag and head for the door. Dad leaves early for work so I never see him in the morning.

I walk out to my car and start the engine. My cars old but it gets the job done I guess. I turn the radio one and listen to it quietly. After driving for about 10 minutes I get to Beth's house and honk the horn. She walks out wearing black on black on well black. She has a strange style but she pulls it off so well.

"Hi" Beth groans. She isn't a morning person.

"Aha morning sunshine." I reply with a laugh. Beth groans again, louder this time, and lays her head back on the seat.

We sing and laugh on the way to school because that's just who we are and we when we get to school our moods immediately drain and we feel the sadness of school take over.

"Second day and I'm already ready to kill myself." Beth mumbles. I reply with a laugh, we say our goodbyes and head off to our first lesson. Math.

....

The day goes on and I am relived for lunch break. I walk to our usual table and find Beth already sitting there.

"Hey Beth." I yawn.

"Hi." She mumbles. I can see she's staring at something so I follow where her eyes are looking.

"I should've known." I whine.

A few tables down I see the new guys sucking some girls faces off. Then I realised who the girls are. Maddie and Stacey. The prettiest girls in school but also the meanest.

"Why do they get the guys every time." Beth grunts. I laughed but on the inside I'm angry too. Every guy likes them and doesn't notice any of us.

That's when I hear the voice I really didn't want to hear. Ethan's.

"Hey babe." He calmly says rapping his arm around my shoulder.

"I'm not your babe Ethan." I reply. Why is he talking to me like this?

"Hey now, don't be like that, come for a walk with me?"

"Ethan you broke up with me n the 2nd week of holidays. Why on earth would I go for a walk with you?"

"Sorry Ally it wasn't a question." He grabbed my arm and started pulling me out of my seat. I jerked away. "Ally let's try not to pull attention to us."

"Ethan get away from me I mean it."

"Let me think about that... no." He grabbed both my arms this time ripping me out of my chair.

"Ethan stop!" I was angry and upset. Why did he have to do this now? Or ever?

We were almost out the canteen door when someone ripped Ethan off me and shoved him to the ground. I look at my wrists and they're bruised and sore.

"You'll need to put ice on them."

I look up and see Harry standing above me offering me a hand up. I gratefully take it and try not to make my arms hurt more.

"thanks." I manage to spit out. His eyes captured me. They look so kind and warm. But as if I spoke too soon his eyes suddenly changed, they were dark and cold now. Not so capturing now.

"yeah whatever." He mumbled and walked away.

What just happened?
