I woke up in beads of sweat and pushed my hands through my hair.My heart was racing,breath fast yet short,head killing.I looked around int the dark solitude of my room and began to relax.Memories immediately flooded back as i recollected what happened.I remembered the feeling of warmth as i was about to go back.I remembered the heaviness and pain i felt when resisting the urge.I remember the sudden stop of pull-
I jumped out of the pieces of wood placed together to make my "bed" and raced out the door to the study,the only place left untouched from the fire,where i knew my mother would be and without hesitation burst in.My mother was sitting down on the chair facing the table which the laptop(no longer working)was placed.Her head was down and her hands were wrapped around the bottle of insodes.She looked up with a sudden swiftness and tried to hide the bottle which was no less illegal but could kill with just one tablet.Our eyes locked and i saw the sorrow in her eyes;I no longer felt angry at the thought of her even thinking of leaving me behind but guilt and relief hit me instead leaving no room for anger to reside.I ran to her and knelt down on my knee and gently placed my hands on her thighs urging her to look at me.
"I-I-I "She stuttered and fell silent.I knew she wouldn't speak about it unless she wanted to so i started to tell her the reason i burst in the study(Though i wanted her to explain badly)
"I did it mother,I did it,I don't know how but i did and yes,it hurt me but i did it,Mother i did it"i Started off
"Baby calm down...you did what"She whispered.
"I resisted myself from going back mother"My mothers eyes went fully alert as she began to register what i was saying
"You mean to tell me that you stopped yourself from going?"She questioned wearily
"Yes mother ,I did"I exclaimed with pleasure
"Well, By the 2 moons and suns you'v done it"she said immediately after kissing my forehead.
"Now since you have woken up ,you might as well make yourself useful by fetching some water from the ocean so we are stocked up on water"
"Yes mother"I nod my head and begin to walk back out of the study
"How long can we live like this?"I hear my mother mutter as i slowly close the door.
